I’ve been on a mild hiatus from wrestling.
I zoned out for several matches last night and locked in on only the ones who cared about.
I’m sure the others were good too, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with taking a brief offseason to refresh.

Dave Meltzer said he understands why AEW kept MJF as champion because "you don't replace the General as you're winning the war" and that's hard to argue.

I think I got caught up in the MJF Omega match in the moment a little too much last night.
After watching it a second time Kenny was far better than I felt he was. I was nervously invested so much it affected how I viewed Kenny in the match.
That's on me.
He was brilliant.

now that i'm NOT baked as shit I want to say that for my first proper exposure to AEW, this was good as fuck. Okada (already a fave of mine), Andrade, and Kenny were def the highlights of this show for me. Edge was also there ig which was cool.

I won't be surprised if the ones complaining about #AEWDynasty last night are mostly Hangman stans or MJF haters who won't accept him no matter what.
MJF might be the biggest star in all of pro wrestling now. The aura on his entrance was something else. Crowds view his matches as special. That's how you sell tickets & ppvs. He's really good at this.

Perfect summation of MJF. It's not that he's not good, or talented, but you can't keep doing the same shtick in the same place over and over without burning it out. He copies old shit that worked cause the era allowed it to work differently.
