Optimizing Mixtures of Metal–Organic Frameworks for Robust and Bespoke Passive Atmospheric Water Harvesting Atmospheric water harvesting (AWH) is a method to obtain clean water in remote or underdeveloped regions including, but not limited to, those with an arid or desert climate. For passive (i.e., relying...

💦 in our latest research (with @chemashlee.bsky.social), we framed an optimization problem (a linear program) for designing bespoke mixtures of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) for robust, passive atmospheric water harvesting.

It happens all the time and I’m constantly confused how those patterns make it through peer review. Many are not even close! Whenever I see that, I assume the entire paper is not trustworthy and is full of sloppy data.

I have a question for #chemsky and #chemchat: I often see published PXRD patterns which do not fit to the theoretical pattern of a new structure. If the diffraction data don't support the structure, what does that say about the rest of the characterization?

I would love to know what university leaders say to politicians behind closed doors, because "asbestos is falling on our students' heads and we can't afford to change lightbulbs" doesn't seem to be what they are hearing.

SHOUT OUT MOFS FOR WINNING THE NOBEL PRIZE IN CHEMISTRY!!! MOFs have been my side hustle (lol) throughout my undergrad and I’m so happy to see them getting recognition. Huge day for MOF enthusiasts

Just a little humble brag. Here's me getting my PhD with my supervisors - Bernard Hoskins and newly minted #NobelPrize Laureate Richard Robson. So thrilled for Richard, and thinking also of Bernard tonight (who passed away many years ago but was a crucial collaborator of Richard's). #Chemsky #ozchem
