Thanks to Barbara Sabol at Sheila Na Gig online for publishing my poem "In Place" in this month's issue: sheilanagigblog.com/poetry-archi...
Thanks so much to Neologism Poetry Journal for including my poem "Finish Line" in the latest issue-- @neologismpoetry.bsky.social
Happy to share these two poems in the new edition of The Lake, out of the UK. Thanks to editor John Murphy. www.thelakepoetry.co.uk/poetry/dana-...
Contest for high school writers: Using the prompt “One True Thing” as a springboard, we invite you to write a story, essay, or poem that takes your reader on a journey...toward...truth.

As part of my "debut into poetry society," I just added this page to my website, which gave me occasion to list some of the many experiences that brought me to the present moment and to think how fortunate I have been. danamaloney.com/poetry/
Cooking up proposal ideas for #ncte26 and thinking about publishing as the final stage of the writing process. Here's a useful list for 6-12 and college writers: newpages.com/young-writer...
@ncte
A time capsule--first poem published (1994), first teaching job, wonderful man who took took care of the school. And on JSTOR! Full text at doi.org/10.2307/821169
Thank you, @ncte.org, for providing all attendees with a warm and inspiring environment in which we could connect, learn, dream. On behalf of other attendees, I just want to say how much we appreciate the work of everyone in your organization! #ncte25
“At that moment the (subversive) power of reading made itself clear and real to me. If I could see the words, then no one could control them or what I got from them.” #NCTE25 keynote with Percival Everett
Good morning, #NCTE25 attendees! I'll be presenting TWICE today. Please join me! G.6 at 12:30 on why and how we should teach poetry reading. . . and J.10 at 3:30 on AI-proof writing assignments. Both in room 303! I have lots to share!
Sorry I didn't see your post last year. I hope you might consider coming to my poetry presentation on Friday at 12:30 in room 303.
Something I'm thinking about saying at my NCTE talk later this week: We should focus on teaching writing, not automation-assisted document production.
Agreed! And I'm presenting on that Friday at 3:30pm in room 303:
Theory, theorists, theorizing workshop. Saturday 11/22. 4:15-5:30 MST. Rm 507.
What do topic modeling, lack, Taylor Swift, oversized sunglasses, and Louis Althusser all have in common?
They’re all key ingredients in @scottstorm.bsky.social’s and I’s #NCTE25 workshop on Theory, Theorists, & Theorizing! Come join us on Saturday at @ncte.org.

Nurturing Creative Thinking & Change via Reading of Poetry."
#NCTE25 attendees: Let's dig into AI-proof writing assignments! Come to J.10 on Friday afternoon at 3:30pm. I will present first.

Hope to see you at one (or both!) of these sessions in Denver. #NCTE25
Hope to see you in Denver! I will present on reading poetry and on AI-proof writing. Both presentations Fri afternoon.
Fun prompt: dreaming up proposal ideas about dreaming. After #ncte24, what would you like to see at #ncte25 and/or what are you dreaming up?
Thank you, @anterobot.bsky.social, incl for the inspiring design! convention.ncte.org/cfp/
I'm thinking about how "possibility" is definitely a fairer place to dwell right now--as a healthy mindset and more. Replace "prose" with whatever words spring to mind at this moment. #poetry #ncte25 #ncte24
Feeling GRATEFUL for #NCTE24. As we look ahead to #NCTE25, I am thinking that "RADICAL OPTIMISM" might be an interesting mindset to adopt as a form of resistance, self-care, and more. Yes, let's DREAM and make those dreams come true. Already looking forward to your sessions!
This is about dreaming. . . perhaps you write a proposal for #ncte25 based on this inspo?
You are apparently working on this book and proposal I mention in the other reply!
This is perfect for the "Dreams" theme of #ncte25 and is perhaps the material of your next book?
At #NCTE24, some of us had the great pleasure to see & to hear both Tracy K. Smith & Ada Limon. Both poet laureates spoke about Emily Dickinson & her influence on them. As we move toward the next year also toward #NCTE25, let's remember Dickinson's words that we CAN "dwell in possibility."
Yes to all that. And tremendous thanks to NCTE!
