@biologicaldiversity.org is suing to wipe Trump's face off the America the Beautiful National Parks pass.
By law, the pass must display the winning photo of a federal #PublicLands picture contest. Instead, Trump plastered his own face on it.
Trump's vanity pass is not American, beautiful, or legal

A drone hovers over a field with a cloud of pesticides spraying from it. Behind it are trees and mountains.
The EPA has proposed approving the dangerously persistent pesticide epyrifenacil on canola, corn, soybean and wheat.
Epyrifenacil is yet another forever chemical, and this marks the fifth proposed approval of a PFAS pesticide since Trump took office.

The EPA just approved the pesticide cyclobutrifluram for golf courses, lawns, cotton, soybeans, and lettuce. It's another #ForeverChemical — one of a group called #PFAS.
Despite the vast agency furloughs, the pesticide office remains open for business.

“If the EPA wants to convince us that our pesticide regulatory process is robust, they should make it robust,” said @loriannburd.bsky.social, the Center's environmental health director in @pbsnews.org ⬇️

Big surprise (to no one): A much-anticipated draft action plan from the Make America Healthy Again Commission eliminated any plans for action on pesticides.
You cannot "Make America Healthy Again" while allowing a billion pounds of pesticides to be dosed on crops.

“There’s an epic battle brewing over the direction that the administration is going to take on toxic chemicals,” said @loriannburd.bsky.social, our Environmental Health Program Director, “But we’re also up against some of the most powerful corporate lobby groups in the country.”
Honeybees—which are domesticated livestock in no danger of extinction—usurp and replace native pollinators, including threatened species like bumblebees and butterflies, by outcompeting them for finite resources and introducing pathogens into the native population.

“The EPA’s pesticide general permit creates a virtual free-for-all where most pesticide users aren’t even required to identify the pesticide being used or where it’s being sprayed directly into lakes and streams,” said Allison LaPlante, a senior environmental health attorney at the Center.
“...This speed bump gives senators a chance to ponder whether they really want to feed America’s public lands and monuments into the snapping jaws of the fracking and mining industries,” said Taylor McKinnon of the Center for Biological Diversity.

NEW: EPA is planning to eliminate requirements to report greenhouse gas emissions for thousands of facilities.
“It would be a bit like unplugging the equipment that monitors the vital signs of a patient that is critically ill”

"Trump's coal orders take his worship of dirty fossil fuels to a gross and disturbingly reckless new level," said Jason Rylander ... "Forcing old coal plants to keep spewing pollution into our air and water means more cancer, more asthma and more premature deaths."

“We’re determined to do what it takes to make sure the city stops discharging toxic contaminants into the Sound so that people, salmon and orcas can thrive,” said @loriannburd.bsky.social, our environmental health director.

The Center + allies filed a notice today of their intent to sue the city of Tacoma, Washington, for discharging toxic wastewater at levels that harm Puget Sound Chinook salmon, protected as threatened under the Endangered Species Act.

Just me banging on again that BROADWAY employs more people than coal.
Coal's not clean or beautiful, it is horribly polluting, and this is nuttier than peanut butter. “We are committed to supporting all forms of energy, including clean beautiful coal...while ensuring we have the cleanest air, land & water on the planet,” EPA's Zeldin.

We just launched a major new lawsuit to protect threatened chinook salmon from dangerous chemicals being released in City of Tacoma wastewater. Pollutants like pesticides are causing serious harm to endangered species in Puget sound.

The "we won't let big government police our words" administration has banned the use of words like "clean water," "safe drinking water," and "water pollution" at USDA. Trump promised the U.S. will have the cleanest water in the world, how does this get us there? #MAHA newrepublic.com/post/193395/...

Biden required coal plants to reduce emissions of toxic chemicals like mercury bc they can harm babies’ brains & cause heart disease. Now Trump's offering polluters an out: email him & he may greenlight bypassing these & other major clean-air rules. How is this #MAHA?

Much of coastal Costa Rica is owned by foreign land owners but the @biologicaldiversity.org has just donated 40+ acres to a group of Indigenous women for conservation and sustainable cocoa production.

Thank you!
Thank you!!!
We’re thrilled to have won this case, but the real victory won’t come until the Trump administration acts on its promise to rein in use of dangerous pesticides like atrazine that are causing grave harms to people and wildlife alike. biologicaldiversity.org/w/news/press...
Nobody voted for dirtier air and water, more asthma and cancer, or for more species to go extinct, but that’s what is coming unless we stop these catastrophic rollbacks of common sense pollution controls.
Breaking now: We just won our case challenging U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's failure to protect endangered species from dangerous pesticides, including atrazine & chlorpyrifos. Here's the press release from the filing, press release on this win coming soon. biologicaldiversity.org/w/news/press...
The Trump 1.0 playbook was all about enriching corporate polluters at the expense of public health, now Trump 2.0 is going right back to it, sadly, after selling its promise of the cleanest air and water in the world. Only took 7 weeks for them to launch this poisoning American's air and water plan.
The new administration's disgraceful decision to increase some the most harmful air and water pollution out there is especially dangerous for children and pregnant women and will trigger increases in health conditions, including memory loss, learning disorders and heart disease.
