What is happening now with DeepSeek is quite impressive. Has anyone tried it yet?

I’m gonna test it for day-to-day research tasks, maybe it’s better than paying 30sgd for chatGPT 😅

I just bought an ocarina, but was told not to play at night because ghosts will come to visit

But hey, isn’t that the coolest audience ever?

Came here looking for the quantum crowd. Super excited to see the lively discussions on not only #quantumphysics but also #scicomm, #womeninSTEM, and many more. Here is my team @qcrew-sg.bsky.social and I, pleased to be here! 😇

There are 3 ways of solving a problem.

The right way, the wrong way and the eXtreme Go Horse way; which is exactly like the wrong one but faster.

That’s interesting, its useful info when scouting for groups to join.

Might be difficult for an algorithm to scrape the group size automatically from the internet, but the map could have a link to “members” webpage

If you could have a world map showing all research groups in your field, which features would be nice for this map to have? #PhDSky

What bothers me about Musk is how he claims to be fighting for Brazilians, in a “white man’s burden” kind of way

Bro you are just a gringo shootingson running from the law

Engineering to physics. The fields are close, but the switch still needs a big change in mentality: engineers value techniques, products and optimization, but physicists like new phenomena and proof-of-principle. You can't get into the big journals with an engineer mentality.

Understanding how transmission lines work can be quite useful for quantum circuit designers.

In this blog post, I explain the most common misunderstandings about transmission lines. In the next post, I will show how to use this knowledge to design filters!
