FUZE: This British action crime thriller has a great premise, but ultimately whiffs in execution. It delivers some solid thrills & suspense before it goes into generic action tropes midway through. Unfortunately, it never recovers itself in the end once you put all the pieces together. #filmsky

Apologies if I gave the secret screening part away. I came in 5 minutes late to it.
#NowWatching (at a secret screening):
Here's my answer if someone wants me to go see 'Endgame' again...

Everybody's acting like it's a competitor to IMAX. IT'S NOT!
It's just a sticker to slap on all existing PLF theaters (Dolby Cinema, RPX, XD, etc.).
Part of every IMAX ticket sold goes back to the IMAX corp. This is just Disney/Marvel boosting inflation on box office profits. Ridiculous. #filmsky
Project Hail Mary is still enjoyably entertaining movie on the big screen, even on second watch, still flawed in the last half-hour (especially when it feels like it's about to end numerous times). Family loved it. #filmsky
##NowWatching: Round 2 (with the family)
EXIT 8: This Japanese mystery/horror video game adaptation is an unsettling, yet also stirring, liminal space nightmare. A simple genre story that's effectively cinematic in tone, cinematography, & minimalist set design. It drags at first, but it's a brisk 96-minute satisfying horror romp. #filmsky
The more I think about Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the more I'm starting to hate it. Mainly because there's no story, unlike what the first one (kinda) had. There's no arc for Mario, no empathy between Peach & Rosalina, and Bowser regresses to his former evil self thanks to his son. IT SUCKS! #filmsky
Oscars ceremony next year's in mid-March, again?! C'MON!!!
Please put these ceremonies at the end of February next time. Awards season should not run THIS FRICKIN' LONG! #filmsky
Here's a better image of the theater (from 2005).
There used to be a GIANT IMAX (1.43 full-frame) screen at the Megaplex @ Jordan Commons (pictured in 2005) that would project on 70mm film. They replaced the screen with the 1.90 frame in 2010 when it went fully digital.
Would love for them to bring back dual digital/70MM projection. #filmsky
Can somebody help bring 70mm (& IMAX 70mm) back to Salt Lake City please?
Just so that we can experience movies like Dune: Part Three and The Odyssey the way the filmmakers intended. #filmsky
Ridiculous that there are scalpers already reselling those tickets at an INSANELY HIGH PRICE just so you can get RIPPED OFF! #filmsky
I wish IMAX 70MM film would come back to Salt Lake.
We used to have a giant IMAX screen back then, with 1.43 (full frame) aspect ratio (picture’s from 2005) before it was replaced with the 1.90 screen in 2010.
THE DRAMA: A24's latest is an intricate and provocatively dark rom-com about how a resurfaced bleak revelation tests a relationship. Fantastic turns from Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, & Alana Haim, and a nice style with slick non-linear editing. It won't be for some yet it'll spark discussion. #filmsky
THE SUPER MARIO GALAXY MOVIE: Another generic family blockbuster that's catered more towards little kids, nostalgists & Nintendo blowhards. Although a tad better than the first movie yet still a hodgepodge of a mess with frantic pacing, bland humor, & lack of depth that amounts to nothing. #filmsky
Late showing, all by myself.
THEY WILL KILL YOU: This action horror comedy starts off promising but ultimately becomes a gratuitous, repetitive chore. It has solid Gothic-style production design (& a gnarly animatronic), but it can't redeem itself from bland characters and poor acting (Zazie Beetz & Myha'la innocent). #filmsky
Happy breakfast club day! The movie I can recite the script for, in every scene.
PROJECT HAIL MARY: Lord & Miller's adaptation of the best-selling book is a sci-fi cinematic marvel, featuring stunning visuals, an immersive score, and a wonderful performance from Gosling. Its 2 1/2 hour runtime does drag. But overall, it's a great big-screen experience. See it in IMAX! #filmsky
