Yea, the throwing animation speed and my Ubisoft trailer input reaction time is purely for demonstrating purpose!
The player has a dodging ability similar to Dying Light so this encounter is fully avoidable :)
They can now throw things at you, The Last of Us style.
Inspired by their E3 trailer (and ILL), NPC’s can now pickup objects and throw at you to disorient you

A collab between IKEA and Sims is a truly missed opportunity
I get the angle based on the Dot vector product between the location of the player and the sprite, then DegAcos for the actual angle float. To switch angle sprites visually, it’s really just a couple of if statements based on certain thresholds!

Doing some 2.5D ragdoll physics today
It’s a blend between my previous IK logic, Reagera, and actual #ue5 physics.
So far it works great, but still a bit lackluster in actual ragdoll animations.
I feel this is a problem for future me

Been redoing the looting containers for a more diegetic approach. So far it feels smooth but snappy, which is what I want.
I think it will mesh together nicely with the other diegetic systems!

PSA: regularly backup your goddamn projects. Use version control, or just raw dog duplicate the whole project.
I just lost a month of big, and small, changes because of one corrupted file. In an attempt to restore that file, I had to recommit older stuff.

Obviously shotgun1 and 2 are by this point old versions of the weapon system, which throws errors and crashes by just looking at it, but you can’t delete them because they hold some code functions you might need later because you keep forgetting how you did that last time..
