#GivingTuesday isn't over! If you can, consider making a donation to Friends of the Clearwater to support our work defending the public lands of North-central Idaho.
Dear Friends of the Clearwater,
Our compelling Op-Ed in the Lewiston Tribune responds to an Op-Ed about our new lawsuit.

A gorgeous Alberta grizzly bear in the dandelions today. Enjoy!
Whenever people say they hate "radical environmentalists", I wonder if they mean "the people fighting for government to do its actual job". Keep rocking @westernwatersheds.bsky.social
Not in Idaho but important for forests and carbon storage. We need the NWFP to be stronger: oppose logging for dubious "fire prevention" in the rainforest.
Comments for the proposed #grizzly bear rule are due Monday, 3/17! The USFWS is proposing a new direction in grizzly management. Unfortunately, it has some problems.

Three grizzly bears, one larger and two cubs, are sitting together in a field of dry grass, likely observing their surroundings.
Legal win!🎉 In response to a legal challenge from the Center and our allies, the @forestservice.bsky.social + USFWS will reconsider approval of the controversial Eastside project in the Bitterroot National Forest that threatned to harm grizzlies and more.

It’s always refreshing to spend time with others who give us the strength to keep pushing forward, and fight the good fight. Stay tuned for video footage from our time at PIELC! Dr. Chad Hanson started a strong panel discussion - we look forward to sharing with you all.

This is amazing, @westernwatersheds.bsky.social. We need our public servants to do good work to protect the common lands of America. We may differ on how that looks, but we can all agree that public lands without public workers will be a disaster. #saveourforests #nationalforests
IDFG is holding meetings about their big game rules for 2025-2026. Good chance to voice support for wild carnivores. IDFG is moving to open year-round mountain lion hunting, and maintain bad wolf rules. #wildlife #idaho #gocougs

The Wilderness Act is a very strong law that does not need changing. EXPLORE's changes to the Act are a mistake. #keepitwild
🚨 Federal Magistrate Judge Candy W. Dale has upheld her prior decision to prohibit Idaho's authorization of recreational wolf trapping and snaring in grizzly bear habitat during the grizzly bear non-denning season.

A win for wolves and grizzly bears! We're gonna keep fighting until the #grizzlybear is back in central Idaho! #bears #conservation #idaho
Idaho’s El Dorado Creek is very clear and honestly actually a bit golden in color. The banks are grassy and green, with several tall evergreen trees growing in the background.
In honor of @wildclearwater.bsky.social joining Bluesky, here are some favorite photos from my time volunteer field monitoring with this great organization 💚🌲
El Dorado Creek, 2019. FOC has fought against logging in this roadless area, particularly the Lolo Insects and Disease timber sales.
A really bad bill is going through the House. It poses fire as the ultimate threat to our public forests (even though most forests evolved with fire) and the solution? Industrial logging, including clearcutting.

Good news!
One of the barbaric Montana wolf killing bills—HB 222, which would've created a year-round wolf hunting season with no meaningful limits on the number of wolves that could be killed unless the population dropped below 650—was just voted DOWN by the Montana House 60-40!
The fact that poisoning the stream is even an option in the GYE is ridiculous.
The so-called "Fix Our Forests Act" is a Trojan horse for weakening critical environmental protections while doing little to prevent wildfires. The bill has passed the House and now it heads to the Senate. Time is of the essence - please act.
We'll see if congress takes on the Antiquties act...
Hey folks! We've joined the #blueskysocial party! Yee haw!
