Go you! It’s a rejection sensitive person’s nightmare believe me. I had to devise a system wherein I treat myself to something wonderful after so many rejections. Celebrating myself for getting out there and trying! It’s a good thing to plan in advance to soften the blow.

You will do readings where no one shows up. You will set up at events and sell no books. Rejection will show up in your inbox again and again. You will say “I wrote a book!” and folks will stay quiet or say “Cool!” and then not buy it. It’s all good. Part of the gig. KEEP AT IT.

I understand hating opinion columns, I say this as an opinion columnist, but reporting is good and if American democracy is going to survive we desperately need reporting to expose corruption.
