There's a hiss and a flare of light— and then a match glows in the darkness, illuminating a familiar face. "Don't freak out." It's Mystery Boy. In my room. In my bed. To my credit, I do not, in fact, freak out. I do, however, say a little too loudly: "What the fuck?" That wakes Andee up. Mystery Boy doesn't seem to care. Not that I'd expect him to. He is a hallucination, after all. The lights go on. I expect Mystery Boy to vanish as soon as the light touches him, but no, he's still there. I can smell the acrid smoke as his match burns down. It's a pretty vivid hallucination. Great work, Brain. You really pulled out all the stops on this one. Now that Andee is awake, and the lights are on, most of my fear has faded. It's not real. It can't be real. It's just another aimless scheme my trauma-fried brain cooked up to scare me. The latest snuff film in my imagination's endless reels of false horrors. First Mystery Voice, now Mystery Boy. So many mysteries, I'm practically the schizo version of Scooby Doo. Next thing I know, Mr. Queen will be dressing up in ghost costumes to scare away anyone who threatens to expose his unethical business practices. Mystery Boy raises his hands. "I'm not here to" "Uh, bro?" Andee asks slowly. "Who the Hell is that?" I can only imagine the look on my face. "Hang on. You can see him?"
Today’s #WIPsnips word is #film. I think this is another repeat scene, introducing Red (everyone’s least favorite hallucination boyfriend).

Screaming. All I can hear is screaming. Distant, far away. But still so loud. Shut up. Shut up. It's me. I'm the one screaming. Shut up. I can feel my body moving, muscles expanding and contracting, strong and weak all at once. "Clem?" Red's voice is too loud. A bass drum thrumming in my bones, vibrations that I can feel throughout my entire body. Shut up. Something is ripping me apart. Metal slicing my bones, my muscles, my organs. Poking holes in my lungs. Draining the air out of me like letting go of an inflated balloon, watching it dance around the room before falling still and deflated to the floor. There's nothing but chaos, as if even the perfect systems of my body are rewriting themselves, rows of DNA scrambling and twisting. Acid instead of blood in my veins. Eating holes in my bones. And then nothing. No more pain. No more chaos. Just a vague and fragile sense of peace. Am I the one feeling it, or is it Wright's feelings bleeding into me? I don't know. I'm awake now. I see Red. All of him. Every pore in his face stands out, like thousands of tiny needles. I can see the fine hairs on his chin catching the light. His eyes aren't just blue anymore. There's an entire spectrum of color. Green and blue and pertect grey.
