I am pretty new to this still and have been enjoying the prompt-games i have been participating a lot! Maybe some more character-focussed prompts would be interesting. There are probably many of these out there already though...

Personally I'd love to see some prompts relating to how our worlds function, if that makes sense? One of the best parts of fantasy worlds is that they don't necessarily operate on real-world logic, and it's always fun seeing how other authors reinterpret natural phenomenae.

Morality in Theryl is often defined by how well one follows the specific edicts of their patron deity. Some nations will put more emphasis on punishing certain crimes the others, though.

Hello, friends and #MarchWorldbuilders! Although I'm pretty satisfied with what I have for the year, are there any themes you'd like to see a prompt game about? Even if I don't host it, it might give others examples or ideas for things they can do!

Partially from religion / the gods' teachings, partially from trial and error; everything that helps with humanity's survival as a species is automatically considered moral.

Elissenes would say it comes from natural laws the Mother wove into creation, and most other religions would say the same of their own gods. Tyrists would point to the cosmic order, which predates and binds even the gods.

The portal-builders did play a significant role on this. When they connected the 7 Worlds, they did convey certain societal norms and civilatory structures along with the common language they introduced. They did not issue them by force, bur rather inspired the worlds.

Most Nixtralians derive the framework of morality from a mix of the laws & religions prominent to their realms. Some religions have gods who oversee the concept of morality, but often the people tend to interpret those beliefs & laws in their own way.

I think morality in the Akrodaxis stems from a little bit of everything: experiences, laws, religion (or spirituality), teachers, you name it. Some areas are greater influences than others.

Kindred of the Sea - in the Valor Alliance, morality comes from the gods & requires obedience to those who speak for them.

In Elethri - well, how you see these things is a private matter. From your own heart? From God? Still private to you as long as you respect other's rights.

You can say that in Nequinum, morality is derived from all; spirituality, laws, oneself, humanism, community, learning, storytelling, etc.

There is no one source where all morality is derived from.

Religion and law went hand in hand to give the people a moral framework. After religion stopped being important, things were understandably chaotic, ending when many of the old laws were rewritten to fill that hole.

1/ The dominant ethic is imperial economics: worth = productivity. Good = compliant. Safety = funded. Suffering = acceptable overhead. Institutions treat empathy as inefficiency. Public virtue is optics.

AElit is a theocracy, so morality is defined by both religion & the law. The Teuchos (holy book) is the primary source, followed by the High Priest/Temple's interpretations (& any visions/divine messages they've had). All subject to review by the Aristan Court as needed.

That's essentially what the PD believes... but also "yeah, some people ARE bad and we need a God to threaten them into being good."
