I can never do showmeyourknits because either I just posted a picture of whatever it was, or it's something I've never knitted in my liiiiiiiiife. I even bought a cowl pattern from a local designer in a yarn shop in NY to use up some yarn, but then I knitted something else with that yarn.

But if you *were* fundamentally incurious, I don't think it would bother you.
My dog is doing his best to convince me he DOES want a pickle, actually.
It gives me more time to go get coffee while I wait for it to boot up in the morning.
I've been thinking about this more and I feel like we need a horny artists/horny writers art trade group - alt text for illustrations.
Being with someone for 35 years means when they say "who's the guy who's not Brennan Lee Mulligan?" you can immediately reply "Matt Mercer" because it is.
Whoo. I just reviewed an AI app that generates prompts for your AI apps. THIS IS A THING THAT EXISTS.
I've never been to the White House, or Congress, or most of the monuments. I remember being a kid and thinking it was SO WEIRD to see school groups from other states, why would you come all that way just to look at anything around here?
www.section508.gov/create/alter... was what we got in 508 class. It's about conveying the same meaning as the image, not just describing how it looks. The tone should be the same as the tone of the art - you wouldn't use clinical terms for a pinup. (I am not very good at alt text but I try.)
Technically I took the day off work to get my tire fixed. Now with the other 7 hours, I can play Moves of the Diamond Hand! @cosmoddd.bsky.social
Can't wait!
Bad news is that I popped ANOTHER tire. Good news, it's actually the same tire and I got the warranty on it so that's like $300 of rubber I don't have to buy.
It looks fantastic!
Wait, did you ever see that TikTok lady who was "homeschooling" her child by telling her the answers on her worksheet without giving the kid a chance to do it or explaining what anything meant? That's AI training. Circle the cloud, check the box, get the credit, never think about it again.
I have to take 20 hours of "AI training", and I still have no idea. It's all very bad, probably 100% slopped out by AI and I'm learning nothing. Kids are learning the important lesson that they should just do whatever dumb thing their boss says to stay employed?
This morning started with me knocking over the freshly-filled dog food bin, watching it fall down the stairs and take out the big bottle of concentrated cleaning solution, which popped open and coated everything with a mix of the two. Happy Easter to me?
My kid had to learn how to make NFTs in middle school art class.
Rule of Rose for sure, there are a lot of good videos on it.
I'm on a strict no-new-yarn before MD Sheep & Wool budget, and am having to face the fact that I keep buying cotton yarn to "make dishcloths" but I dislike knitting with cotton so I never actually do that. Did you know there are nearly 5k free knitted dishcloth patterns on Ravelry? 🧶
A package with purple branding and blue bunny-shaped marshmallows, in the style of Peeps. It reads "Good Mallow Plant-Based Marshmallows, No Artificial Dyes, Animal Products".
Speaking of Easter treats, these are my favorite. Their website says they're "coming soon" which is poor PR a day before Easter, I just bought them from the regular grocery store in the regular Easter section (but when they ran out they had more in the hippie aisle).
A closeup photo of a chihuahua laying on his back, looking relaxed, with paws up.
I'm supposed to be doing my taxes, but I'll use this thread to procrastinate instead! Look at this sweet face:
Huh. I've been watching some random Fantasy Island episodes and wondering how this mid-at-best show got so many seasons and you just unlocked understanding. The only reason to have watched was to see who was the guest that week!
These gummy bunnies are a premium treat in this house, so I would like to know how the dog got hold of one. Who would drop one and not immediately dive for it??? katjes.us
Oh no, they just think emotions are simple feedback loops to en/discourage actions. :(
It's a mystery! I bought these yarns a couple years ago and lost the band. They're slightly different weights anyway, but fingering-ish? I knit it on US 2s, so that would probably be 4s for a normal person. The nice thing is you calculate everything by gauge, so it'll work regardless.
Also the one about it being LG to murder someone after they repented so they wouldn't sin again. I've gotten into "he never said that!" arguments where I linked to the source, and the other person just refused to read it.
Oh goodness. I laughed extra hard at that short because I watched it right after having an extremely similar conversation. (Except my quotes were more paraphrased because I didn't look them up first, I'm just old.)
My grandparents had a Nessie from the 40s(?Possibly early 50s) that's surprisingly similar to this. Ceramic, not glass, which is why I'm surprised they're so close.
I feel pretty happy with my yarn chicken on this one too, my goal was just to use all the very expensive yarn with none left over and I was left with just shy of 2 yards of the yarn I used for the edging.
Finished, blocked piece. Faroese inspired shawl in browns/reds/purples/greens, with stripes formed by textures of different yarns all dyed in the same colorway. No idea what the yarn is, I cast on 2 years ago and lost the band since.
An attempt at photographing the blocking shawl using the panorama mode, halfway successful. Faroese inspired shawl in browns/reds/purples/greens, with stripes formed by textures of different yarns all dyed in the same colorway. No idea what the yarn is, I cast on 2 years ago and lost the band since.
Unfinished, unblocked piece. I love the difference between the damp dishrag look of a fresh-off-the-needles piece and the finished item. Faroese inspired shawl in browns/reds/purples/greens, with stripes formed by textures of different yarns all dyed in the same colorway. No idea what the yarn is, I cast on 2 years ago and lost the band since.
Faroese inspired shawl is finally done! I used this as the base: ravel.me/top-down-far.... It's amazing how the very minimal shoulder shaping makes it fit so nicely, I used math and it's perfect. Sadly I finished it just in time for it to be 90° for the next 9 months. #knitting 🧶
