Anyone know whether today is a ‘ceasefire’ day or a ‘destroy your civilisation’ day yet?

I am glad this is being said. Sitting silently in rows being fed ‘knowledge’ to regurgitate is not education. It would be ideal to prepare children for domestic service in Victorian times! Needing permission to take off a jumper, SLANT, silent corridors etc isn’t preparation for the real world.

Swimming becomes the first major Olympic sport to lift restrictions on Russian athletes The governing body for international swimming and aquatic sports will allow athletes from Russia to compete without restrictions and with their national flag and anthem.

So, Russians are allowed back to swimming, officially, with their flags, anthem and everything. Shameful .

Take down bird feeders this summer to cut spread of avian disease, says RSPB Charity advises replacing seed and nut feeders, where birds gather, with small amounts of mealworms, fat balls or suet Garden birds should not be fed seeds and nuts over the summer months, the RSPB has said, in an attempt to reduce the spread of avian diseases. Bird lovers are being urged to take down their bird feeders between May and October to help birds such as the greenfinch, whose numbers have plummeted after the spread of trichomonosis, a parasitic disease transmitted more easily when birds cluster around feeders in the warmer months. I don't really understand why Bridget Phillipson repeatedly talks as though school based settings are better than PVI ones, especially when a third of PVI settings are run by volunteers like me. It's not exactly motivating for us.

Have you spoken to those currently working in the early years sector as from what I hear from colleagues in England they are seriously underfunded at present to offer what should be a wonderful preschool experience.

Completely agree. Just asked husband who was traditionally office based pre pandemic and eldest who currently is. Both professionals. Neither would expect to wear a suit or a jacket or a tie anymore. Schools are out of date. It’s become about control.
