The focus on the vetting process for Mandelson is astonishing. The vetting is a red herring. Everyone knew he was a wrong 'un. Nobody needed a vetting process to tell them the obvious, that appointing him to that role was totally inappropriate. Vetting isn’t a get out of jail free card for Starmer.

If only there had been some kind of clue. Like a notorious public history…a series of sackings..a nickname like, I don’t know, Prince Of Darkness.

Just managed to do the subtitles for this. The video includes footage of the state-sponsored police riot at Orgreave and audio testimony from miners who were there. With John Tams’ music it makes for a powerful combination.

I used to think this government was determined to create the perfect conditions for a future authoritarian administration, but it’s now clear that the authoritarian administration is actually them.

When this project began everyone in Britain had freedom to protest as a right, handed down through the generations. Now, with the passing of draconian anti-protest legislation by successive governments, that right has become a privilege, to be granted on a whim by an unelected police official…

I never see it on there but have had good feedback...
