The mass immunization campaign was a part of how we won our independence. Vaccines save lives and help us be stronger than what we are without them.

A collage of fourteen by eight squares containing examples of gravitational lenses. Each example typically comprises a bright centre with smears of stars in an arc or multiple arcs around it as a result of light travelling towards Euclid from distant galaxies being bent and distorted by normal and dark matter in the foreground. In some rare cases the smearing is in a complete ring, creating a so-called Einstein Ring.

Oh for sure, but it's another interesting question!
And the dust isn't lost through orbital drag that quickly. It's definitely a growing problem.
Sure, but we expect an increase as the number of breakups, burnups, and just more stuff goes into space. There's some evidence that we are seeing an impact on atmospheric chemistry, so curious at what point would this impact astronomy... 100 de-orbits in a year? A 1000? More?

IF YOU BUILD A BIKE LANE THAT DOESN'T CONNECT TO ANOTHER BIKE LANE THEN YOU DIDN'T BUILD A BIKE LANE
No idea, but would be interesting to know for long term impacts of orbital debris on Astronomy.
How small ... Or really how big does the debris have to be before it hinders astronomy? I'm just wondering if even the dust is harmful. I'm betting it is but have no reference for just how small is still a problem. I'm sure it depends on flux too.
Tesla saved $400 million on its federal taxes by shifting billions of its U.S. profits to countries with lower tax rates.
Yes: While you paid your taxes in full, giant corporations maneuvered to pay as little as possible — and it’s all perfectly legal for them.
The system is rigged.
With school choice programs ascendant not just in Iowa but across the U.S., Cedar Rapids offers a preview of who wins and who loses when education meets the free market.
I can't believe this isn't seeming to make more noise in the news. Or at least I'm surprised it's not coming up more in my streams...

If journalists had any integrity and courage, they would boycott the White House Correspondents Dinner. It should be as empty as a TPUSA event.
The American gestapo abducted an 85 year-old widow.
Was she one of the worst of the worst? No, her step-son, a retired Alabama state trooper, got ICE to put her in a detention center to deport her because he wanted all of his father's inheritance.
Sounds like the son is the worst of the worst.
We should be learning from other countries...

While the nation was celebrating Artemis II, Trump's budget threatens the future of space science
www.space.com/astronomy/na...
Good to see this. @whitehouse.senate.gov turns his sights on Elon Musk's unpermitted jet engines polluting a South Memphis community to power his Colossus II supercomputer. Time for EPA to actually enforce environmental laws.
She is not wrong.
For all those still feeling the moon joy—Artemis II was brought to you by public schools and publicly funded science. Copy that! 👩🚀🚀💕

Vast difference between religious freedom and imposing Christian nationalism in the workplace. The Trump admin is doing the latter.
The effective federal corporate income tax rate:
1950: 50%
1990: 25%
2020: 13%
Stop asking "but how we will pay for it?" Restore the corporate tax rate.
That is how we will pay for it.
This is a hard story to read. Imagine being asked to ignore a dead coworker to maintain productivity that further enriches shareholders.
What would that do to your mental health? How could you return to work the next day?
The human costs of our late-stage capitalist economy are all too real.

Hey folks, dealing with [redacted] today and turning to my best self-care: promoting and praising people to all of you. Given the almos circular Venn Diagram that is Bluesky, chances are you already know them, but the benefit to me is real, so indulge me. A thread:
