As Texas measles outbreak grows, newborn babies were exposed to the virus in Lubbock hospital Infants barely three days old are receiving antibody injections to help protect against the virus. Nearly 300 cases have been reported in the outbreak.

Vaccinating vs. measles protects babies who are too young to receive the vaccine. Maternal antibodies of a vaccinated mother are transferred to the baby. Robust herd immunity reduces virus circulation in communities and protects the most vulnerable.
