NO female character makes me crazy crazy like Karen Page. I'm nuts about her. THAT'S my poor little meow meow.

Same same, it's incomporably delicious.

Blue graphic with glowing yellow text that reads, “COVER REVEAL!” and credits art to Marcela Bolívar and design to Caitlyn Boyd. The cover revealed is that of THE BONE BRIDES, by Marley Rose-Teter. The cover’s main color palate is glowy blues and aquas and features two girls holding hands while standing face-forward. One girl has a missing eye and a place her torso reveals instead a ribcage. The other girl has a hand that has become skeletal. In a satchel the second girl wears sits a skeleton-rabbit. Behind the girls looms a large skeleton-deer, with one antler replaced by vines. Very moody and atmospheric. The graphic also shows that the book has pale-green sprayed edges, stenciled with deer skulls and the same antler/vine combination.

Blue graphic (with the book’s cover watermarked beneath) that reads, “About the Book” followed by the tagline, “Hayao Miyazaki meets Guillermo del Toro in this Sapphic YA portal fantasy in which a girl must save her changeling girlfriend from a terrifying faery realm,” and the synopsis: “Nola James can handle it. She can handle that her father is dead. She can handle that her friends, bored with her grief, left her behind. Nola James has to handle it because Lumi―the love of her life and a faery changeling―is in danger. Not only is Lumi's human mother trying to kill her, but she’s being hunted by veiled monsters that want to return her to the fae. Hiding out in an abandoned cabin with only a skeleton-rabbit for company is hard, but Nola can handle it. And she does.

Until Lumi is abducted.

In order to save her, Nola must enter the faery realm: a boggy world in which eyeless horses parade as brides, ghost-bees produce transformative honey, and skeletons dance in skin-colored cloaks. Aided by a witch-girl with uncertain motives, Nola uncovers the realm’s terrifying power over changelings. Unless Nola can outplay an abyssal faery queen and find the courage to let the world see her own pain, Lumi will be trapped―not only in faeryland but in a skin that’s not her own.” Finally, the graphic lists the book’s publication date as September 29t, 2026.

10,000 words of dev edits done between December and today. I need a medal, a nap, and a cocktail.

I read a bit of the manga as a kid, loved the live action, and now me and my other half are barrelling through the anime. We're on full Straw Hat madness in our house.

I've also caught the One Piece obsession, never thought it would come for me but it was only a matter of time. So excited for season 2 of the live action!!

Learning from my italian friend that it's a remake of a 1970s show, and is apparently just as corny as its forebear, has only made me want to watch it more

I could pen this, by the way. I believe I have what it takes. There WILL be puppets.

I hate to say it, I truly do, but in a live action of The Last Unicorn, Timothee Chalamet would make the perfect Schmendrick.

Nothing like a bit of Dectectorists to make me wish I was sitting in a field in mild weather drinking weak sweet coffee out of a flask.

I know, I don't get it! But it seems that for a lot of people in acquisition it's a hard No for some reason. That's a great list you just pulled up though, maybe there's still hope for mine after all!

So many editors specifically have "no animal stories/animal protagonists" on their lists which is so sad for me specifically 😭 what's that all about. You don't want mouse? with sword? angry feminist mouse with sword and her gay frog prince best friend?? #UKKidLit

Watched the first 2 episodes of Small Prophets and it's exactly the kind of thing I wanted to make in uni. It really reminds me of a script I wrote that I'm gonna have to dig out and revisit.

It's perfect, constant rewatch in mine and @samndoesart.bsky.social 's house we've watched it about 8 million times

Suddenly remembered this for no reason and had to scroll back to find it and now I'm laughing again. Good morning, double ADHD peas.

Was there ANYTHING more smug than the kids on the playground who wrongly insisted the lyrics were "I'm blue, if I was green I would die"???

I've been so busy working away at The Nesting Room but today I've been thinking about my other book on sub Lilymouse and how much I love it. It's so special and timely I am shaking it at acquiring editors like a bag of dreamies. Pspsps, you want feminist Redwall for modern audiences with LGBTQ rep?

All this to say, if they get this far in the live action, Water 7 is gonna RIPPPPP!!

My One Piece journey has been unconventional (read a few manga as a kid > dropped it > didn't care for years > watched the live action and LOVED IT > started watching the anime) and this thing will really have you saying the most dumb stereotypical shid like "oh man just wait til you get to water 7"

I am so wildly flabbergasted that EVERY advert for any AI tool comes with the onscreen text "sequences shortened, results may be inaccurate, not currently available in this format". They're fully stating that it's a lie and their product doesn't work as advertised!!! Surely this is not legal.
