I think age certainly brings a different perspective.

Sometymes evil doth seeme so powerful that the heart groweth sick. But ther ys comfort yn the fact that evil ys an aberration. Our default settinge ys lovinge each othir and lookinge out and takinge care. We smyle at children. We give somebodye bus fare. We share advyce. Kyndenesse ys braverye.

A writer is a writer not because see writes well and easily, because she has an amazing talent, or because everything is golden. A writer is a writer because, even when there is no hope, even when nothing you do shows any sign of promise, you keep writing anyway. Junot Diaz professor of Writing, Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, 2008

The Menderes River in Greece, the source of the word Meander. A picture of a river not a straight line but running left to right and back again, like a squiggle from an infants pen. It is surrounded by green fields.

The word MEANDER comes from Maiandros, the Greek name for a winding river in Turkey.

Over time this word has meant: confusion, to wander aimlessly, a winding passage.

I love it, b/c the river & the word make me think of a dotty old man's path as he wanders around the house looking for his keys.

Celebrate those who have given love and worke to make the worlde a bettir place, wyth litel or no consideracioun of what thei koude gayne. Celebrate those who bringe beautye to lyfe yn small or big wayes. Celebrate those who have given you care and given care to othirs. And hope fiercelye.

A huge component of imposter syndrome is overestimating how qualified everyone else is.

When she opened the ancient book, petals spilled out—fresh, impossibly so—carrying the scent of a garden that had not existed for a thousand years. Suddenly she was there; right in the middle of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.

BlueSky has brought amazing people into my life like @robgotobed.bsky.social !

I truly loved his collection of stories & jokes in “Captain Apollo And The Casually Dressed Drone In Grandma’s Home Theatre.”

With all the bad news out there, I didn’t know how much I needed this book.

Oh my goodness what an awful time you have had. It is good to hear that you are recovering. This is a cause close to my heart #braincancerawarenessmonth as a close family member was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour recently

Henley detectorist hunts for spitfire crash pilot's family Danny Jones discovered parts of the Spitfire near Henley in 2021, and has since uncovered its story.

A reminder of the human cost of war, and of humanity which should unite not divide. An amateur metal detectorist who discovered parts of a World War Two Spitfire is searching for the family of the pilot killed when the plane crashed more than 80 years ago.

Heads up: the latest variation of writer scam spam is the one asking you to join "a community of writers" (the one I'm being invited to is called "Wordsmith and writers."), with an inevitable ask for cash. Save your money for legit writers orgs like @sfwa.org and @authorsguild.org, folks.

You know the best way to kill AI? Don't use it. Don't buy it. Don't share it. Don't give the people who use it your labour or your money.
