Artistry : Collaboration and Creativity Commission available on Ko-fi.com

Working with me means entering a collaborative space rooted in depth, clarity, and truth. I don’t separate care from confrontation, because real transformation requires both. My artwork draws from decades across psychology, education, activism, and art—integrated, not siloed.

I felt... numb ... this morning. Around 845am, I finally was able to write a poem I was proud of longer than BlueSky limits and the rest of the day followed.

Beautifully wrenching ♥️

Almost everything we argue about is a substitute for the thing we should be arguing about: the immense wealth & power of an oligarchic class, which captures governments, ruins lives and wrecks the living planet.
This class redirects our rage at scapegoats. To resist its lies is to resist its power.

Rain, New Year's Eve
By: Maggie Smith

The rain is a broken piano, playing the same note over and over.
My five-year-old said that.
Already she knows loving the world means loving the wobbles
you can't shim, the creaks you can't oil silent-the jerry-rigged parts,
MacGyvered with twine and chewing gum.
Let me love the cold rain's plinking.
Let me love the world the way I love
my young son, not only when he cups my face in his sticky hands, but when, roughhousing, he accidentally splits my lip.
Let me love the world like a mother.
Let me be tender when it lets me down.
Let me listen to the rain's one note and hear a beginner's song.

it's in-between..
dark of the fall..
moon of the rise.
i think there's something..
in that motionless place..
no one speaks to.
it's where you taste lightning & swallow thunder..
then you don't feel it anymore..
it's over.
and you carry on..

Awakening
the ring of fire

lava erupting
Japan in the
crosshairs of
disaster

Old Faithful
acting strangely
guests running
for their lives

Mt. Sanit Helens
begins to stir
Seattle?

'neath the
Grand Canyon
lava flow whispers

we've not honored
Mother Earth as her
stewards

This poem is entitled Mind Heart in Soul. I was at a dark time in my life, and I still am. But through it all, I managed to turn negative feelings, into an art form, with this piece. My poem was a part of a stop the gun violence project in college. #poetry #poem #darkpoetry #poet #poetrycommunity
