The latest #aaba2026 meeting was the best yet! I have so many highlights, from the art expo and silent auction to the education committee workshop and course seeing the fascinating talks and posters. I’m so glad my 3D prints were so well received.

We can trace ourselves to her. She lived 150 000-200 000 years ago. Our mothers mothers mothers, and their mothers mothers... all through the female line.
What does she mean to you? Come share with

Disney ban, meet Target ban. It’s too bad I won’t be enjoying the Fantastic Four home release, but I want to live in a functional society instead of just seeing one on screen.

We recently paid people to unfollow the most divisive accounts on X. After a month, they felt 23% less animosity towards other political groups

Their experience was so positive that half declined to refollow those hostile accounts after the study and they felt less animosity 11 months later.

I got brake checked and the most insulting part was that they didn’t get anywhere as close to me as we got to each other in our simultaneous lane change.

Trump is gutting museums and libraries. YouTube video by thebrainscoop

Losing the Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS) would be an act of monumental neglect.

I made a video about what’s at risk, and how orgs like @amlibraryassoc.bsky.social and the American Alliance of Museums need us to help advocate for these critical places.

Incredible orangutan fossil from Vietnam highlights how diverse this group of apes was in the past; today there are only 3 highly endangered species living on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra (article: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10....)

I went to Target for the first time in months. Don't worry: I didn't buy anything. I just flipped off the things I used to buy.

How come the Doomsday Clock is always minutes from midnight? What does 12:15 look like and how is it different from 12:05? Heck the fact that there is a midnight implies there’s a 4pm. What’s that like?

I have a new camera and I now have birder cred. Someone next to me in an aviary with a huge camera pointed at a bird whispered to me “that’s a roasted sapphire” and I’m like “… magnificent.”
