Check out Blasted Horizons base compendium, they update their information on base sizes once a month. Lots of other sources (incl. GW) are wrong.

When in doubt you should (almost) always give a model the base it came with. If you got it second hand or it's a really old model whose base size has changed, then that becomes a problem.
