I really enjoyed yesterday’s webinar, “Mountain Lions in VT?” presented by Vermont Fish & Wildlife. It was great hearing their perspective on mountain lion reintroduction in Vermont. I’d highly recommend attending the repeat of the webinar on May 19th.

Over the holidays I’ve been practicing with animating the mountain lion. While it’s definitely not perfect yet, I’m learning a lot about animating in 3D!

HISTORY TIDBIT: There used to be a bounty on mountain lions here in Vermont, as they were deemed “noxious animals”. This poster (that I created for my project) displays the $20 bounty from 1895. It might not seem like a lot, but that’s over $650 in today’s money!

I had a great research trip to Squam Lakes Natural Science Center today to see the mountain lions! I studied them closely so I could start to understand their movements and behavior for my animation project.
