#Onthisday in 1901 Queen Victoria died. She was 81 years old and had reigned for 63 years, 7 months and 2 days π
She was born at Kensington Palace in 1819, she opened the palace to the public in 1899 π°
She had already opened Hampton Court, a palace in which she never lived, to visitors in 1839.

Charlotte died surrounded by her daughters Augusta and Mary, the Prince Regent and the Duke of York π―οΈ Her coffin lay in the dining room at Kew, lit by six candles in large silver candlesticks, before being taken to Windsor Castle.
