One of our systems was quoted as AUD $90K. We worked out a cheaper way.

Or spectral library in case of DIA.
The peptide with the variant is so low abundance it isn't detectable or give poor MSMS spectrum.
The variant isn't in the database so you don't find it cause the program doesn't know to look for it.
Cowardly.

I wouldn't trust the opinions of two of the "experts" mentioned in that article. Charlatans. 😉
Today's top of my rolling list of people's stupidity are journal's that keep sending emails with the following as the title:
Request for Permission to extend publication proposal
You are asking permission to send something you have already sent, the actual email that this is the title. Morons.
Be nice to others, respect others opinions, and don't profit at another person's expense.

In a report published in the Journal of Proteome Research last years advances and efforts within the HUPO coordinated Human Proteome Project (HPP) to define the human proteome and make proteomics an integral part of functional multiomics are presented.

I prefer to normalise sample load before LC-MS/MS than rely on software to fix lazy sample preparation. I have a horrible feeling that a lot of single cell proteomics work is going to be proven wrong in a few years when we figure out how to normalise sample loads.
They ran out of game time, counted in "overs" each of which is six balls. Netherlands needed to score "faster" or hit more runs per ball.
Wait till you start watching Test Cricket and one match goes over five days.
I don't see a difference.
Okay, it's super messed up that malaria epigenetics is the same time as my US HUPO talk. What did I do to the organizers? I made the mascot, for crying out loud. I would totally skip my talk to see malaria epigenetics, but my dumb ass has to be on stage. Wait. OMG, ROFLMAO
I said she wasn't the present. The VR46 shirt could be grounds for divorce in some countries.
Wandering through the paddock post race while mechanics were packing up. A nice German Mercedes mechanic gave us a present (which Venesa is holding. She is not the present. I then had to carry this ~5km back up mountain to camp site.

It's cheaper than flying and renting a car in Melbourne for 5-8 people. And you get to freak students out visiting submarines that are 400 km from the ocean. 🤣
