We have had three IEP meetings regarding an individual student’s school bus driver’s political diatribes, choice of rabid talk radio station, and other such behavior. Parent wants him taken off her kid’s route, and kid’s psych is saying it’s causing PTSD.

I said my final goodbye to my mother today before returning to CA. Even though this goodbye has been coming very gradually, in stages, knowing this was the last one was devastating.

I helped both my husband and my son with the platforming. I hate the battles, love the platforming. They are the opposite. It makes for good partnering!

The significance of my very small nomination as Teacher of the Year at my tiny Autism school is that I am nevertheless in the same pool as everyone else currently working through the process for National TOY.
Imagine an autistic teacher of autistic students getting a national podium.
This is my 4th year as a special ed teacher in a Nonpublic school.
I am guessing that ICEphobia will not be sufficient reason for my travel insurance to let me cancel my flight on Friday.
Not traveling isn’t really an option. Guess I’ll just spend Thursday night in line at LAX.
I did the road trip last time, and it was epic!
So I am Teacher of the Year at my school this year.
I have to fly Friday from CA to FL. Absolutely unavoidable this time.
Flight is at 5:30 am. I’m arriving at midnight. It’s LAX.

I have been really struggling with executive function since the big bad burnout four years ago this month. At 60, most sane MDs are not willing to start me on stimulants to deal with ADHD symptoms, because it might actually be other stuff. So we’re trying Wellbutrin. So far 👍
Better than an “Anywhere away from here” kind of day. Hope things get better.
It is 10:06. I felt like a naughty teenager last night with spousal unit as we kept clicking “Continue” on “Lincoln Lawyer,” until it was all gone at 4 am.
The bathroom is clean, laundry is in, groceries are ordered.
I’m thinking that the Wellbutrin is working as expected.

The multigenerational home is back.
