We combined #STED superresolution light #microscopy and electron microscopy to shed light on #mitochondrial nucleoids.
Karen‘s expertise and dedication was crucial to this project!

Indeed very sad news about Karen Davies‘ passing.
I can only agree with what @amunts.bsky.social wrote about Karen.
We published a paper on how mitochondrial DNA is packaged into nucleoids in @pnas.org in 2015. Karen performed the experiments of EM imaging for DNA spreading and of course cryoET.
