Special interests, like war profiteers and Big Pharma, will always back the politicians who they know will give them a return on their investment.
That’s why my opponent takes money from AIPAC, ICE contractors, and the utility companies that are driving up our costs here in St. Louis.

The protest last night had a great turnout and got amazing press. Quite illustrative that someone was hit by a car at the protest, fortunately that person was physically fine.

Whoever is putting these up is dedicated. They're everywhere in south city. I've been putting STLU stickers next to them when I can...

This creator is doing a charming series showing off interesting websites that you otherwise won't come across in the hyper-ad-optimized internet landscape we all live in. I remember some of these from the "good old days" of the internet. Very fun anti-doomscrolling.

Road safety features were removed quickly in downtown without notice, without published plans, without public comment.
Keep this in mind next time they tell us that safety changes at deadly intersections require studies and months of community engagement.

More than anything, I want a flip phone with the Signal App and nothing else.
Didn't expect @stlurbanists.bsky.social to be in the Daily Mail any time soon, but here we are.
We’ve gone international! And props to the UK tabloid to be the only one talking pedestrian injuries and deaths. I know every interview we mentioned it but editorial control means not everyone is interested in prioritizing that part of the story.

My email to the mayor's office about the bumpout removal, by the way.
Traffic Engineers. Traffic Engineers need to hear this.
I got mad enough about the removal of St. Louis’s bump outs that I spoke to @stlmag.bsky.social about it. I am deeply concerned that the loss of bump outs could turn into a loss of life. Will Mayor Spencer “own this” then?

It's strange how installing the smallest bit of micromobility/pedestrian infrastructure requires weeks, months, years of consultations and debate and careful weighing up of how many lives are worth the cost of minor inconvenience to drivers but when it comes to taking it away, fuck your bumpouts.
On here (in addition to mastodon) today because my disgust at municipal government hypocrisy has temporarily overtaken my disgust at corporate owned social platforms and I wanted to express it to as many people as will listen.
An aside, but I think this is why I've been really into the idea of Library Socialism. A library is an existing model for communal ownership and stewardship of resources. If you start there and frame it as simply expanding that model to as many things as possible, it's so much more concrete.
hey hi hello is this thing on? pls boost!!!
I’m planning a charity raid train for SQSH, a St. Louis org helping the local queer community, and looking for Twitch streamers to participate
Dates: June 12-14
wanna help? have questions? reply or dm me! 💕
It took St. Louis City 5 weeks to *remove* 4 bump outs because maybe they contributed to a really bad night of traffic congestion. It takes months and years of public engagement and studies to make safety improvements, but we can destroy them immediately when we want?

Not sure how The Dispossessed slipped past me for so long. Absolutely devouring it.
St. Louis: If you're in Ward 8, you have an Alder election on July 1st. @trailnetstl.bsky.social (alongside CP2, @stlurbanists.bsky.social, Paraquad, and Transform 314) has released candidates surveys focused on street design, transit and traffic violence. Take a look:

I might as well set up a script to just post every Kea article here. Another banger, this time out city-to-city bus routes.

My experience in the #StLouis snow so far:
My street isn't cleared, and neither are either perpendicular streets on my block.
My little 2WD car struggled so much getting out of its spot, I decided to not try to go any farther.
Of the 3 bus stops I used, 0 had shelters, 0 were cleared. One […]
So Loughborough Schnucks has a anti-loitering sensor that is pointed at the bus stop and tells you to leave when you've been there too long? I am trying to leave, that's why I'm at the bus stop.

So I moved mastodon instances, and now if you want to see my content it will show up on this bridge: @nix.social.coop.ap.brid.gy
I don't intend to move again, the first move was due to an unforseen server issue.
