Group bike ride on Gravois Avenue seeks to call attention to traffic violence A coalition of cyclists wanted to call attention to traffic violence in St. Louis on Sunday — and to push for change on one of the city's deadliest thoroughfares.

Grateful for such sensitive coverage, both on today's Gravois ride and in covering those who we've lost to traffic violence on Gravois this year. Thank you @monicaobradovic.bsky.social. #stlurbanism @stlurbanists.bsky.social

Currently it seems St. Louis CSB doesn’t have a reporting option for utility companies violating Ordinance 71943. When you notify them, they just refer it to the company (Spire, obviously). Shouldn’t the Streets Department be documenting issues as part of the enforcement of this? #stlurbanism

St. Louis is well poised to adapt to global warming through sensible urban design. For the wrong reasons, our comfortable biking season is lengthening. Reducing car lanes, adding bike lanes, and heat-absorbing greenery, is both urbanism and climate adaptation.

Despite hiring WSP to redesign this section of Grand Ave with ARPA funds, @STLCityGov and WSP chose to make no changes to this area of South Grand.

To make our streets safer, we need narrower lanes, raised crosswalks, and center medians .

This is fucking horrible. The lack of response has put pedestrians in so much harm.

Why can we not have clear sidewalks? Are their ADA regulations that would make them liable things like this #stlurbanism

I think about that entire chain of events often. It’s why I don’t cycle right now- not just because of the risk of death but because of the harm the city endorsed in favor of cars. It should have been disqualifying then but tragically it wasn’t. #stlurbanism

Can confirm, further south on Grand it is a mess and St. Louis has no plan to show they care about pedestrians or transit riders. #stlurbanism #stlwx

The first snow was over a week ago, the last snow was Friday. This is the most frequent and highest capacity route in the city. Every stop looks like this. This says "this city doesn't care about pedestrians".

There should be an award for the longest contiguous stretch of shoveled sidewalk. The record I've seen (outside of downtown) is one house short of a whole block.

Rode the bus (well, two buses) to work today. Had to get up fairly early. Had an interesting conversation with a stranger at one stop, and ran into a friend at the second. Watched the sunrise, didn't have to park. Pretty good experience for $2.

So Loughborough Schnucks has a anti-loitering sensor that is pointed at the bus stop and tells you to leave when you've been there too long? I am trying to leave, that's why I'm at the bus stop.
