The Last Frontier: For voters in remote areas, SAVE America Act would impose massive burdens “Alaska is -- I don't even think it's close -- the most difficult place in the United States to conduct elections."

NEW: Alaska resident Marvin Parent’s opinion of the SAVE America Act? “Total bullshit.”

His home of Marshall is one of those places where everyone knows everyone, he said, and “you don’t need to” check ID.

But if passed, the bill would impose ID burdens — and Alaskans will bear the brunt of it.

As long as ICE agents are at airports, those airports must be sights of protest. Otherwise we are normalizing the encroachment of the Gestapo into more parts of our lives and society.

Next up— learning together about noncooperation strategies. Next week in Juneau we host this workshop series. General strike, eroding support for authoritarianism, and immigration bystander trainings. We are expanding our repertoire of nonviolent tactics. #alaskasky

What noncooperation strategies put retired people front and center? This is a serious question, not a veiled complaint. Easily half of those who came to No Kings in my town today were over 65.

Thinking of all the vets having their PTSD triggered by this bs war— more perpetual cast offs in the American war cult.

THREAD: Cherise Doyley was in her 12th hour of contractions at the hospital when a tablet was brought to her bedside.

On the screen was a Zoom call with a judge and several lawyers and doctors.

She was in court, a nurse told her. The reason? For failing to agree to a C-section.

We believe all Alaska residents deserve to know how their elected officials are making decisions.

Our reporting couldn’t be possible without government transparency. This #SunshineWeek, consider making a gift towards our journalism that keeps officials accountable.

People shouldn't feel bad about previously admiring someone when they didn't know about the terrible harms that person committed, but we should challenge ourselves to consider how pedestalizing and prioritizing the legacies of charismatic leaders can create harmful dynamics. That can be addressed.

OMG Ireland— your own citizens are being held in American concentration camps and the Taoiseach grins alongside Trump with the bowl of shamrocks? Meanwhile DHS “celebrates” St. Patrick’s Day with green teargas. Those neoliberal claws have got to be shorn.

I can’t stand all of the fake posturing of helplessness by so many. Lots of people are active and organizing against the regime. Find them and keep showing up. Or find one person to join you in one simple action then do it again. Or be the lone, brave soul, inspiring more people than you can know.

Another reason to reject the fossil fuel economy— war in the Middle East is touted as good for Alaska, as the price of crude oil rises. It’s a death cult doom loop, every step of the way.

We read the entirety of the US Constitution before Rep Begich addressed the AK Legislature, in the hopes he might become aware of its contents. Because clearly he isn’t. #alaskasky #indivisible

We did read the entire US Constitution out loud in front of the Capitol today, for his benefit.
