It's normally because he's so comically unobservant or jaded that he doesn't even realize something threatening is going on! When you can win any fight trivially, what do you even perceive as danger?

Season one of the anime is good! Season 2 even! The whole point of One Punch Man is that he is physically able to win any fight. Fights can only happen if Saitama either isn't there or isn't willing to fight. The reasons Saitama isn't there or isn't willing are the important part!

I thought the whole world was on the same page, that Saitama winning fights is a gag, that it's not the *point* of One Punch Man, and that that's not what we're in it for.

But it seems like people like that they didn't go with this??? They prefer the fight?? I cannot understand.

And when I went back to the old chapter, this panel was gone entirely.

They had decided to retcon this scene *immediately* and go into a generic anime fight instead.

I didn't read any more chapters after that.

Just checked my weight. After one week of dieting, I'm down to 340lbs.

10 pounds in one week is aggressive, but it's understood that you'll have big losses week one.

From here on I'm hoping for 1% body weight loss week over week
