WOW! 😳 This is a new addition to SPC MD Graphics!

The #Hawley, #Texas Tornado, one of the tallest tornadoes I’ve ever witnessed. Unfortunately, this tornado was a destructive one that destroyed homes.

Spent the majority of the day organizing files and combing through footage from last year. And all I can say is what a wild ride it was, and 2025 looking just as crazy.

70+ tornadoes last year, 3 Hurricanes, Solar Eclipse, and Amazing Auroras.. Can only imagine what 2025 will bring!

BEAUTY & THE BEAST: Watching one of the most violent tornadoes I've ever witnessed move away after countless close encounters with this shape-shifter of a beast. This is the EF-4 Shawnee, OK 2013 Tornado as it crossed I-40.. Viewed from the Southeast over a serene canola field!

Enjoying this beautiful evening before the Polar Vortex invades Oklahoma the next few days with temperatures below freezing for several days straight and some snow!

This was west of Custer City as this supercell prompted a TORNADO EMERGENCY back in May.

WEDGES \______/…. Tornadoes that are wider than they are tall. A sign that a tornado is VIOLENT in nature and can have winds exceeding 200mph inside these beasts! What would you do if you saw one of these??

The majority of these storms will not reach severe limits... But, with enough instability under an Upper-Level piece of energy (added lift), a few storms could become strong enough to produce a brief #tornado.

Pretty easy to see in the temperature data where low clouds hung in today and kept temperatures down, forecast was for 60+F in OKC metro area. Kind of amazing to me that low cloud forecasting is still such a challenge given all the progress I've witnessed in 35 years in meteorology.
