Living in York, is a great place to reflect on what it means to be 'British'. Founded in 71AD by the Roman Empire, Eboracum was such an important city that two Roman Emperors happened to be here when they died. The multangular tower is largely of Roman construction. @VisitYork

Why wouldn’t you call it testing (asking as a psycholinguist)?

Me too but with an actual toddler around we can’t both have a tantrum 😂

1 year ago 1 0 1 0

You can take the toddler approach to sleep, which is if napping is affecting their night sleep, you cap the nap. I know you’re not a toddler, but I still think some stuff remains similar as we grow up. But if capping doesn’t help night sleep, then nap away!

This is such an controversial topic and I faced a lot of judgement for taking antipsychotics in pregnancy (by choice) but guess what? I was mentally stable & well which meant my baby was well.

Do you know if bilingualism also includes English as a foreign language or is simultaneous bilingualism preferred as a topic?

A similar language problem is happening with the word disabled. Hence why people keep saying disabled is not a dirty word. As someone with a disabling SMI, I can confirm that I HAVE Bipolar and AM disabled. But people should have a choice in how they describe themselves.

Why are men such creeps? Giving a lecture in a theatre mostly with floor to ceiling windows. This middle aged guy stops and starts staring at me and smiling. He probably thought it was endearing. I started looking back at him funny so he eventually left all angry. Totally disrupted my lecture 🤦🏻‍♀️

This is really nice. At the moment I mostly feel that most of us as academics make very little difference to students. It feels like a business.
(but hoping this negative feeling will pass)

Those of you in UK HE sector right now: a reminder that no matter how passionate you are - a job is a job. It might feel like you could never land anywhere else. You can, and will, should you need to. And wherever you end up, your new workplace will be lucky to have you.
