Look at this chart.

Tax cuts for the rich are a policy choice. Cutting the social safety net in exchange for them is a policy choice.

States like New York have an opportunity to help undo this trickle down nonsense by raising taxes on the rich (who will still be rich).

I hope Gov. Hochul does.

Working Families Guarantee We can win a real agenda for working people — but only if we all come together and fight for it. Add your name if you agree: It's time for a Working Families Guarantee

The @workingfamilies.org Guarantee has a lot of overlap with @ceprdc.bsky.social 's Majority Agenda. Compare for yourself: workingfamilies.org/guarantee/

Union membership has been cut in half since 1983. Not because workers stopped caring, but because the rules were rewritten against them.

68% of Americans still support unions. The will is there. The policies are not. @hcbrown.bsky.social in #MajorityAgenda #Econsky https://bit.ly/4tZ2OyO

Tesla saved $400 million on its federal taxes by shifting billions of its U.S. profits to countries with lower tax rates.

Yes: While you paid your taxes in full, giant corporations maneuvered to pay as little as possible — and it’s all perfectly legal for them.

The system is rigged.

Trump Republicans are Defunding the Tax Police, Making America Great for Rich Tax Cheats Budget cuts backed by Trump and Republicans weaken the IRS, reducing enforcement and enabling wealthy tax evasion while costing billions in lost revenue.

The US loses about $700 BILLION a year to tax evasion. Nearly 30% of unpaid taxes are from the richest 1%, and half from the top 5%. When Republicans defund the IRS, they are protecting the interests of the wealthy, not you. https://bit.ly/4tHsnnY ..

Provide Jobs for Those Who Need Them Despite record low national unemployment, millions remain jobless or underemployed, exposing stark regional and demographic gaps.

"A targeted, large-scale subsidized employment program or a universal federal jobs guarantee would significantly increase the number of people working. The Workforce Promotion & Access Act & the Federal Jobs Guarantee Act are good starting points." @a-austin.bsky.social

New CEPR data: Union membership in the US fell from 18% to 10% since 1985—nearly cut in half. Every state but VT saw declines.

Trump is accelerating the attack on workers, but this 40-year erosion started long before him. More from @hcbrown.bsky.social: https://bit.ly/4rmZKL5

No Kings As the president escalates his authoritarian power grab, the NO KINGS non-violent movement continues to rise stronger. We are united once again to remind the world: America has No Kings and the power ...

When our military is fighting a war Americans don't want, secret police are kidnapping and killing our neighbors, and the regime is working overtime to suppress the vote in the midterm elections, silence isn't an option. No Kings Day on March 28 has to be big, loud, and inescapable.

The Day Million-Dollar Earners Get Richer by Stiffing Social Security High earners stop paying Social Security taxes once their income passes the cap, raising questions about the case for eliminating the payroll tax limit.

Millionaires start hitting their Social Security cap today, while the rest of us pay all year, that's not just unfair—it undermines what the program is built on: collective care. This is why we need to #ScrapTheCap.
