I've noticed this on multiple posts: are all the state abbreviations correct? You have all of New England, except you're missing MA (Massachusetts), and all states are mid-to-north East Coast states (we'll allow PA due to Philadelphia ๐Ÿ™‚), except you have added NE (Nebraska), seemingly randomly...

My wife was wiped out for a few days by her second. I had mild flu-like symptoms for a day or so for my second. So easy (I got mine at CostCo!) and so much better than getting shingles! Just Do It!

Bedroom walls painted yesterday! Looks fantastic (I was at work so didn't help at all ๐Ÿ™ƒ). 3 coats! Very bold red #HotTamale I really love it but we'll need the right curtains to cut the color. Next the hallway walls and all the trim, then we'll start laying the hardwood.

Thankful that my #TiVo still works to "watch" the #SuperBowl. We got our first TiVo in 1999...! and have owned one ever since. I cannot count the number of hours of mind-numbing commercials we have avoided. Maybe it's not cutting edge anymore but it's still so, so useful.

Update on upstairs remodel: bedroom and hallway de-carpeted, underfloor screwed down, ridges sanded off, everything washed down, paint and hardwood flooring purchased. Today: shovel out from snowstorm, then start painting! Oh and of course, walk the dog. Can't forget that.

While I'm super-happy for a real NE winter this year (I love seasons, even snowy ones...) I confess I've not been brave enough to commute on my bike for the last few weeks of snow. Cold I don't mind but I've taken too many falls to risk snowy/slushy/icy roads anymore. I'm rooting for you!

Was I complaining about 25F weather recently? Today's morning temp was 0F... ๐Ÿฅถ!! Fortunately the roads are fully iced and not thawing: I don't have to feel guilty for not riding my #bicycle to work ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

My daughter (mid-20s) loves this album so much she got a tattoo inspired by Birdhouse In Your Soul. Hard to believe it's 35 yo this week... still great!

The thing is, third party fact checkers don't censor anything. They check facts. It's META that decides how to respond to people posting the lies and conspiracy theories that fact checkers discover. If Meta is upset with "censorship", they should look in the mirror not at the fact checkers.

About to get on my #bicycle to #commute home: 25F with a windchill of 11F. Sigh. Is exercise still good for you when it results in frostbite? Plus, I left my big new light (Christmas present) at home so I still only have my older light. It works, of course, but... phooey.

#TimotheeChalomet was very good as always. I'm always skeptical he can pull off these roles (Paul Atreides? Bob Dylan? *Willy Wonka*?) but he does it. I checked "The Very Best of Bob Dylon" on Spotify and... no "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall"? His best song ever? WTF??? No truth in advertising.

Went to see #ACompleteUnknown this past weekend. Even though I'm too young to have been around during this time, because of my parents #BobDylan was an integral part of my childhood especially his earlier stuff. Thought the movie was great although I recognize some liberties are taken!

Finished re-reading #TheCountOfMonteCristo this weekend. This time I listened on Audible (53 hours!!) It was still great, but I was amused by the narrator using "thanks!" as the translation for merci: of course it's appropriate for 1840's English, too, but it still sounds so modern!

Today we'll plan a cute little one-week sprint to realign the calendar after the holidays wrecked our normal processes. I hope to find something quick and fun to kick off the New Year and jump-start the little grey cells after weeks of egg nog and holidaying.

The bad news is that there is SO MUCH ifdef'd code in the old parser for handling Windows, OS/2, DOS, and VMS that I almost despair of ever getting it working again on those systems. Especially since I own none of them and can't easily test there.

I guess there's nothing for it but to try.

I spent the last week on and off, rewriting the GNU Make recipe command parser to be clean and understandable. It now passes the 4000+ test regression suite on my GNU/Linux system, so that's gratifying!
