I have been a TiVo user for just over 20 years. And I didn't realize how spoiled I was by the interface, until a recent hospital stay forced me to have to use a cable providers built in guide and menus. It was uncomfortably slow, provided little information, inaccurate, and even had errors.

So it appears Xfinity now has commercial skips in Olympic content scheduled for 3 hours, but I noticed a new issue with the X1... Trying to fast forward through content you don't want to see, snaps backwards, trying to force you to watch the content. UGH. Frustrating!

Can't help but notice that commercial skip is completely unavailable on Xfinity's X1.

Another difference between it and Tivo.

A couple of days into using Xfinity's X1, I can say it's nowhere as nice as Tivo. There's features on Tivo that are just easier or nice to have.

For example, there's no true skip all commercials on X1 recorded content, where as it was available with a single button press on Tivo

My last Tivo finally stopped working with it's cablecard. Since the company basically went out business last year, I decided to finally switch to an Xfinity X1 DVR.

In my brief use thus far, it's not as easy a Tivo, but it's workable.
