"Scientists are not alone in working toward increasing trust in science, we have teachers, librarians, and many others with us."

Really important to remember this!

This infographic titled "The Women of the Periodic Table" highlights ten women and their contributions to element discovery. A central periodic table marks specific elements in green and orange, with lines connecting them to names and portraits. Featured scientists include Marie Curie (polonium, radium), Marguerite Perey (francium), and Clarice Phelps (tennessine). It traces history from early pioneers like Harriet Brooks to modern teams including Dawn Shaughnessy and Darleane Hoffman.

You ever look at what your kid’s doing and wonder if it will be a random core memory one day?

I have a handful of random memories and interests from when I was my son’s age (6) that still influence my interests and personality at 36 lol

I'm so tired of measles.

I'm also tired of people using needle shots on stories like this.

Show what measles looks like.

If Incyte had hired actual artists to work with patients and taken the time to put more soul into this project, it would have been so, SO much more impactful for everyone involved. Instead it just kind of checks a box for patient advocacy, I guess?

The Caretaker - Everywhere At The End Of Time - Stages 1-6 (Complete) YouTube video by vvmtest

In contrast, I IMMEDIATELY thought of the James Leyland Kirby’s album “Everywhere at the End of Time”, which is a six-part series using music to show the decline in Alzheimer’s disease.

It’s powerful. It’s impactful. It works. I saw this years ago and STILL remember it.

The Unseen Journey | Home Everyone experiences myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) differently. The Unseen Journey shares stories, resources, and a visualization tool to help track MPNs.

I recently came across this campaign last year from Incyte using AI to help visualize polycythemia vera symptoms.

While I appreciated the sentiment behind the effort, the use of AI just made this whole thing feel…er…flat and lazy.

James Watson, dead at 97, was a scientific legend and a pariah among his peers James Watson, the co-discoverer of the structure of DNA who died Thursday at 97, was a scientific legend and a pariah among his peers.

A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.
