Unknown: ~1.5x0.5", squishy, leathery exterior. Found about several inches underground in loose, wet soil along with ~dozens of others of varying sizes. The little 'roots' (mycelium?) appeared to be attached.

Same unknown object split open and laid on a dry leave. The 'shell' is bunched up in the upper left; the greenish stuff is exceedingly slimy (like banana slug slime); the white ribs running through the pinkish flesh are rigid like cartilage.

Anyone know what these are? Found a dozen in dad's garden—different sizes, leathery, very slimy on the inside except for the white strips which were tough as cartilage. Google Lens suggested reptile egg or stinkhorn mushroom. There's no odor (yet). I think they're alien eggs.
