Just finished reading Kiersten White's fantastic Lucy Undying. If you're a fan of Dracula, Vampires, Lesbians, Gothic, and awesomely cathartic revenge, I'd highly advise. Some really interesting points about bodily autonomy here, as well as Lucy actually getting to be more than an ill victim.

Anyone else really bothered that they didn't put 'sexual assault' as a content warning for #nosferatu ? Saw it on the cinema and was totally caught unprepared (always nasty). The film is so clear about both its literal sexual assault and it's seriously implied sexual assault.

It's transgender day of remembrance today and we've lost 309+ siblings in the past year to violence, and an additional 47+ to suicide*.
Every single one had hopes, dreams, talents, fears, a family (chosen or otherwise). They deserved better.
Ex-librarian here—I'd say encouraging your followers to put in requests for books with marginalized authors/MCs and check out those books both in person and online would be best. To get books and keep them on shelves in times of scrutiny like this, there has to be a quantifiable demand for them.
This sentiment about feeling useful is really relatable
The secret is that other writers aren't competition; they're peers, colleagues and friends. Someone who reads me is going to read other writers as well; the entire publishing economy is "yes, and." Therefore it does me no harm, and much good, to support other writers and to wish them well.

Very! I was luck to find two people easy to trust. In a weird turn of events, they knew the midwife who delivered me 😅
I got stranded in London Waterloo at 8pm at night. Every train out got cancelled. I live no where near London and did not have enough money for a hotel. Luckily, I found two kind Midwives who also lived in the same city as me, and they offered me a lift home with them. Shouldn't have had to though!
Read this essay book earlier this week - a really intriguing read and lots of food-for-thought which has been making my brain twitch for DAYS. Would recommend (only 130ish pages, so a quick read, too)

I hate the random bouts of abuse thrown at people by strangers. I've had this done so many times and no matter how much I know that those people don't deserve to have an effect on me, it certainly does take away a sliver of my ability to feel safe in public. I'm sorry you experienced this
