New post on #Fuggled, in which I finally discover whether innoculating a 19th century style London Porter with the dregs of an Orval bottle was worth the 8 year wait...

Haven't thought about Fraktal in ages, fantastic place.
I'll be up Inverness way too, looking forward to some Cromarty Happy Chappy, as well as Black Isle stuff, and whatever is on at the Castle Tavern.
Good to know, not a fan of crystal malt in my bitters - base malt and biscuit only, for me.
Weird thing about going to the UK in a few weeks is that it will be my first time back by myself since something like 2005, and in England by myself since 2000, maybe. I last flew to Heathrow when I was 18, in 1993, I used to take the bus from Scotland to wherever I was going, whether PL, DE, or CZ.
I hadn't even got round to thinking about the food side of things yet!
Pride is definitely on the list, as is Fullers in general. Given the paucity of real ale in the US - it really is a case of one swallow not making a summer - I doubt I will drink much non-cask beer at all.
I might be weird, but I am thrilled there is a Shepherd Neame house just round the corner from my hotel. Bishop's Finger was one of my first real ales as a callow youth.
Planning on buying some Boltmaker to being home as I am working on a clone.
Making a list of beers I want to try in London when I am there:
Harvey's Sussex Best
5 Points Best Bitter
Anspach & Hobday London Black
MacIntosh Ales Best Bitter
What other must haves are there?
Will be in London for a few days in the first week of June, staying near Burlington House.
I haven't been to London since I was in my 20s.
Where's good for real ale around that area?
There are pros to eScooters????
If things work out as some folks wish, then all I have to say is Obama 2028.

Stumbled across "Bill Bailey's Ultimate Pub Walks"...delightfully mellow.
Often it expresses what I can't find the right words for.
Depends on the music, but generally alive.
Singing along, badly, in the car.
Coherent albums.
Hearing Eivør's "Trøllobundin" for the first time.
"Dog Man Star" - Suede/London Suede
"Siamese Dream" - Smashing Pumpkins
"Louder than Bombs" - The Smiths
"Ach, Homo Fragilis" - Schola Gregoriana Pragensis
"Lads Among Heather" - The Corries
No idea.
Lots of 50s/60s/70s stuff that my dad listened to in the car. Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds was a staple.
Voice every time.
"Adore" by Smashing Pumpkins
"Live it up" by Mental as Anything.
"While You Sleep" by The Mutton Birds.
Suede/The London Suede are the heirs of The Smiths.
The Police and/or Sting.
Tron Legacy at the moment.
