These are awesome. Needs a SCUBA adjacent pic, perhaps some outdoorsy. "No need for a camping stove!" etc
Yep. Yep, that's right up my strasse. Ridiculous shipping dictates digital until I can find it in the real world. Ta!
Ok; not really what I was expecting - a lot of it's played for laughs, I assumed (incorrectly) that it was gonna be more hard sci fi.
When I was growing up I thought those films were mainstream and dad. Now I'm older than mountains I see they're incredible and coked up and unapologetic and all the better for it.
This had that energy. Same same but different.
Cinema to see project hail mary. Like a respiratory ward with the highlight being two old boys behind me going to sleep within 5 minutes of it starting and snoring/snuffling throughout.
Luckily, we have a bar.
I loved it. Yeah Micheal Mann, but imitation/flattery and all that.
Anyway, after this I went and had a vegan all day and a black lab was at the next table and sensing I was a soft touch came and sat by me.
"Sorry, is she bothering you?"
"Not at all!"
*minutes pass, my plate empties, new friend still looking right at me*
Ok, then.

Heh! Pete Ubu is now canon.
Other than thinking some folk probably spend too much time on nuance free, zero sum socials - not really.
There's a goth disco channel? This is the jetpack future I was promised.
It's the eternal struggle between the bucolic and the redneck. The reason I'm here is.....complicated, but I love the good bits.

12m around the boomerslop lovin' shire. Lots of spring birds on the quiet trails and the fallow deer have come out of hiding. Almost time to move from boots to fell runners.
Ah balls, booked somewhere by the place that's nonrefundable, otherwise I would. Anyway, be good to catch up!
Unrelated: you and the missus going to Ross's civ up?
...and apropos of half of my mutuals: I too am going through my back catalogue of BoC, never too far away from the turntable in any case, in tingling anticipation. That last teaser was *good*
Backwards spliff to show off his stigmata while smoking.

Lots of concentration required today, so the latest opus from @cravenfaults.bsky.social is going on. Sounds like @theleaflabel.com had all sorts of grief getting this into my grubby hands, but the end result is *very* much worth it.
Craven Faults : Sidings
They're lovely, aren't they? I have a circular 12m that takes in the top and there's a couple of discreet herds that have reasonably predictable patterns of migration throughout the day, so I'm almost always guaranteed to see them and, if I'm lucky, a Roe. *Once* a Muntjac, at night.
...or the mixed cd I just dug out. What on earth am I thinking of? The cognitive decline had to start sooner or later, I suppose.
Is that the one with the Joan Baez track from Silent Running on it? I need to find that *now*
Still thinking about the Colin Stetson / Dal:um gig last night. Both incredible in entirely different ways. You all know Colin, but Dal:um: have a nose at their bandcamp - South Korean trad instruments (gayageum and geomungo) playing more contempory compositions. I have 1 million tech Qs for both.
Gorgeous photo! Some great hikes up there..
