Great news 😊 We’ve received funding from the Encouraging and Supporting Grassroots Activity Fund, delivered by Age Scotland with the Scottish Government, for our Voices of Connection dementia-inclusive wellbeing pilot.

Today is #SocialPrescribingDay

At Inspiring Communities, connection is part of everyday support; music, community groups, volunteering and intergenerational work all help improve wellbeing alongside medical care.

🌞 Sunday Reset
Weather: sunshine (allegedly) 😎
Mood: cautiously optimistic
Busy week ahead — if you’ve been meaning to pop in, this is your sign 👀
School holidays incoming… we see you 😂
No big overhaul — just a wee step.

There’s always something happening here,
More than tea and friendly cheer.
On Mondays, Rita leads the way,
With HEAL, Make & Taste to brighten the day.
Kayleigh’s there with a grin that never misses…
(And somehow ends up doing all the dishes 😄).

A lot moving in Scotland’s third sector. Year end pressure, big announcements, some good funders, but the reality is the same. Demand rising, funding tight.

Communities still leading the change. Still love the work.
Who needs sleep anyway?

#InternationalWomensDay makes me think of the women who quietly hold everything together.
In communities, in charities, in families, in leadership.

Not always visible. Always essential

Grateful to work with so many strong, values-led women every day.

Scottish Government to develop formal partnership with third sector The Scottish Government will develop a formal partnership with charities and voluntary organisations to protect the third sector

Good to see SCVO’s partnership approach.

In Stirling, we began this last year, via SVE through the Council’s Thriving Communities tender to build relational, place-based support.

Trust first. Outcomes follow.

In 2023 I stepped back from voluntary roles; priorities shifted and it was the right call. As things steadied, I was approached more than ever. Grateful to the organisations across Scotland, England, and Ireland, and to the leaders who give back quietly.

#Thirdsector moves fast. We pivot, adapt, stretch.

But even agile systems need stable ground. Flexibility without multi-year backing won't sustain trauma-informed or community-led work.

2025 needs to be the turning point.

The share of employees in low pay (defined as people with hourly pay below 2/3 median) has fallen to an all time low of 3 per cent thanks to increases in the minimum wage.

The share of employees in low pay (defined as people with hourly pay below 2/3 median) has fallen to an all time low of 3 per cent thanks to increases in the minimum wage.

That awkward thing where you write an annual report called 'Low Pay Britain' but 'low pay' has been all but eliminated (on the standard hourly pay < 2/3 median measure).
