When I hear "Pedo", it's actually Trump that comes to mind.

There is also the chance that Iran will knock some of those jets out of the air. So we may well have more airmen to rescue soon....

Is he stupid enough to do that? I'm thinking that unfortunately, probably yes.
Not because the Strait of Hormuz is open or closed. But because there will be no oil available in the Gulf nations to export in the first place. And you will also have the resulting humanitarian problems because Gult nations cannot exist without desalination plants.
If he does, this will not end well.
Iran has already said if Trump does that, they will take out all the infrastructure of the Gulf nations, and Israel. That means power plants, desalination plants, oil refineries, etc. There will be no more oil for the West for at least another five years.

The market just wants to believe it will be over soon. But if it isn't, the down side risk is terrible. That is not being priced in.
For me, I feel ot is best to sit on the sidelines for now.
We'll see. Iran had said they were only keeping Hormuz closed because Israel was firing into Lebanon. Now that Israel stopped, Iran has followed through with their ceasefire commitments.
I still don't see a middle ground for US/Iran. And there is no fixed date for that second round.
