A more intimate look at the falls. Lots of icicles too, if you zoom in. Medium format photo, so better printed large and hung for people to admire the detail. Imagine it.

Here's those Horsetail Falls I've been talking about.

Icicles have formed on long grass or willow beside a swifly flowing stream that has a fallen log over it in bright sunshine.
Last of my icicles shots from Horsetail Falls. I feel so fortunate to have captured these.

Black and white medium format photograph of a very large geologic protrusion at the edge of a cliff. In the distance can be seen vast canyons with a clear sky above and fluffy white clouds just at the horizon.
This is βmy rockβ on the #edge of a cliff at my favorite spot in my favorite national park. Even being terrified of heights, Canyonlands never ceases to awe me.

Another shot of icicles beside the falls.
Cropped in a bit to improve the composition. Used a 135mm lens.

Spray from Horsetail Falls frozen on plants. Glad to have a 135mm lens so I didn't have to risk death for this shot.

Thanks for the tip.
That means a lot to me. I should have credited Trish as well. Thanks for educating me on the proper etiquette.
This is my first ever figure drawing. I started drawing a few weeks ago. I've only done portraits up to now. I've been intimidated by figure drawing. But I think this is OK as a first attempt. My reference was the beautiful photo below by @ejrfoto.bsky.social⬠and I hope they don't mind.
Question for my photography mates: If I make a figure drawing that uses someone else's photograph that I took from social media as the reference, is it a good idea to credit that photographer (and the model)? Or am I just asking for trouble?
White cherry blossoms on branches entering the frame from the left are in sharp focus, while a mountainside in the background is in soft focus. This contrast in focus draws the viewer's attention to the subject.
I took this one at the trailhead before one of our hikes to Horsetail Falls. Alpine UT in spring is a magical place.

I took this photo of my hiking companions near Horsetail Falls in the canyon above Alpine UT. Dear friends who've shared many adventures over the years. We are older now, but still staying fit and active.

βGo ahead. Make my day.β
My wife likes to rush from one attraction to the next when we are on vacation. I think it is good that I make her slow down while I take photos. She doesn't see it that way.
Looks like you got a good one. Where did you get it? Did you put much work into it?
Bas relief memorials on the side of a church in Munich. I got low-key obsessed with these things, which drove my wife crazy. I find them beautiful.

Damn! This isn't in Mons! Why did I use that tag? Oh, well. It's in Brussels.
I feel like we need more of these mysterious-looking pedestrian alleys. Most of them have disappeared from modern cities.
Right now, I'm missing Belgium. But still enjoying Utah.

What do you think is the solution? Put nearest object at 1/2 hyperfocal distance? Or isnβt that sharp enough for your taste?
I call bullshit. Nothing wrong with shooting birds on film. Canon FTb, Kentmere 400.

If I were to protest, Iβd be carrying concealed. Not about to take a bullet from some anti-democracy dickwad without taking him with me. But also donβt want to make other protesters uncomfortable by open carrying.
Thanks. I liked the line of the mountain ridge pointing down to the tree.
Here's that scrub oak again. The one I also shot with the pinhole camera.

How about the Temple in Salt Lake City? Looks like the Disney castle. But with orange skies...
Man, that photo is the shit!! I've been on the fence about trying an experimental film. When I get back from Wyoming, I'm going to get one and shoot some pics in downtown Salt Lake City.
A couple more from Battle Creek Falls. Meh. I guess they are OK.
