Don’t think you r wrong! If he were eligible this year instead of 2028, he’d prolly be a first-ballot guy. More a question of how quickly the BBWAA can clear out the top of the returnees and create space where it has fewer electoral priorities.

I’m wondering whether Yadi will make it in year 1.
If Posey, Utley and Felix are still in 2028 ballot, he won’t. In 2029 he won’t due to Miggy, Votto, Grienke. I think 2030.
Ya but…There’s like 17,000 CFs in the Hall. Third base is a weird tweener position, and careers have a shorter trajectory than in CF (where guys go to the corners all the time). Having Kirby’s career at 3B is more impressive than in CF. IMO.

Even better odds for players at certain PA or IP threshold. The more u get the more likely u get a plaque. Then again, the better u r at baseball, the more playing time u get, natch.
Hey @spudsfan.bsky.social! This is Dr Chaleeko of the HOM.
1) Want to be on the new HOM email list? Infrequent emails for results, new year’s thread, opening of balloting
2) Current voting deadline is Jan 8.
DM me for deets on the email list.
#HallofMerit
Long time since last post. Still working on #NegroLeagues MLEs. Stumped by NPB MLEs. Voting for #HallOfMerit. Biting nails for #baseballhof election. Reading about Tsar Nicholas II’s abdication.
One of this things is not like the others.
HOF is done. Next important matter. I think I should root for Los Sultanes de Monterrey in La Liga de Béisbol Professional Mexicana. Lázaro Salazar player-led them to titles. Espino played there. Est Mobil Super has amazing view of Cerró de la Silla. Y they aren’t Los Diablos Rojos…the NYY of LMB.
I had to double check the Tracker to be sure it wasn’t Shaughnessey doing his click-bait best/worst. It wasn’t, and we can all rest easier.
Kinda amazing how Beltran has gained steam as more ballots have revealed. At first he didn’t seem to get a lot of bumps, but it’s turned into a full stampede. Fingers crossed for him at 6:00 PM.
While you await the HOF results, cast an eye back in baseball time with an update segregation-effect research.
TL;DR? Comprehensive study supports and deepens original findings.

Almost as bad as the breakup of the Jefferson Starship.
As Dirty Harry put it, “A man’s gotta know his limitations.”
This is me in Mexican restaurants. Started taking Spanish 2.5 years ago, and I know deep inside that every time I do this, I’ve misconjugated something, and I’ve told the staffer that I’d like to order the chef’s hat on a plate of horse hairs with a side of cat’s blood salsa.
I have one word for this bit of Sasaki news, and it’s hyphenated: Woooooooo-Hoooooo!
Couple that might make 3K or more:
G Scales (lotsa PRWL)
Dihigo
Moises Camacho

Jethroe
Matias Carillo
Willie Wells

Jack Pierce?
What! No estados de Mexico y Panama?
I hear “superutility player,” and I think Tony Phillips and Ben Zonrist were magical beasts who once roamed the Earth giving the platoon advantage to their team every night of the year.
Sasaki is in the Asian MLE spreadsheet on my site, horsehidedragnet.wordpress.com. I think Kim is too
That’s Hall of Famer, Sherry Robertson. Canadian Baseball Hall of Famer, Sherry Robertson.

El Gamo Dominicano=The Dominican Fallow Deer.
[googles around a few minutes]
B/c, of course, the fallow deer is the common Eurasian deer species, as we all know…. ;)
I prefer Wright to Donaldson as a Hall case. Weight is juuuust above my line, and Donaldson is below.
Hey, Adam, in your researches did u ever come across the meaning of Tetelo? I popped it into Google translate and got…Tetelo.
Vargas was known as Deerfoot too, I think, and the Spanish for that would be (roughly) Pie del Venado.
I think I need the 7-day trial. @adarowski.bsky.social do they have walks for Tételo?
I didn’t take Spanish in school and am studying now at 50. When I learned the pronunciation, I was hooked: Coke-ah-YEEN-ah. It just rolls off the tongue beautifully. Hoping to get a Cuban card of him: Caramelo Deportiva, Acebo, Colecciónes Victoria, Almanaque Deportivo, whichever set he is in.

Amazing to remember that Randolph and Armas were PIT products. They sure coulda used them when they sagged into irrelevance after 1979.
