Having degree 1 autism means having been a child/teen with a model behavior (always quiet, straight A's at school), and then growing into a non-functional adult with great difficulties to achieve things that are taken as a given to other people

I have heard a lot about the Spanish-Turkish brotherhood trend going on these days on X, but I totally didn't expect to get this message today on Tandem
Politics talk: I never thought I'd say this, as I was quite skeptical of Pedro Sánchez when he first became president. But God, has he stood his ground against NATO, Isr*el and Tr*mp. This guy has earned my full respect.
Gracias, Pedro 🙌🙌🙌
Wow, your selection looks great too! And reading 'War and Peace' in Russian sounds like a great achievement to me 😄
Oh, are we actually learning the same languages? That's cool! 😃
Aaand yes, I happen to have that book at home, although I haven't read it yet 😁
Persian: interest in the history of ancient Persia and also the situation in modern-day Iran
Italian: I love Italian art and food + love how it sounds too
As you can see, history plays a big role in my language interests 😅
Haha, thank you! I'll try to sum it up here:
Russian: interest in Russian literature and history
Turkish: I love how it sounds 😍 + been to Istanbul a couple times (okay, Turkish dramas may also have played a part in that)
Yeah, I know! Apparently there are some similarities in gramnar structure in these languages. Still, when it comes to phonetics they are very different from each other... I actually think this pronunciation pattern I found was just pure coincidence, haha 😅
Languages I'm learning in 2026:
Russian🇷🇺, Turkish🇹🇷, Persian🇮🇷 and Italian🇮🇹
How about you, #langsky #langtwt?

Still wandering around here, but not as often as I used to. Unfortunately, it seems this platform has not bevone as popular as (I think) it had the potential to be
Yeay, being afraid of sounding silly is the worst. And definitely, I think letting go of your mother tongue is a very important step if you want to really be fluent in a new language 💯
That's a very good point indeed! Yes, I think many people (unfortunately) feel lame or awkward when changing their natural/native way of pronouncing things 😟
Wow, Arabic sounds like an incredibly hard language in terms of pronunciation 😅
Did you take lessons with a teacher/tutor or did you learn by yourself?
Hey #langtwt #langsky! In your opinion, what majes some people particularly good with pronunciation in foreign languages?
A bit like Catalan and Valencian, I guess
Do Serbians and Croatians claim to speak different languages?
The bottom line is that the more languages you know, the easier it is to learn new ones, even if they are seemingly unrelated. #langtwt #langsky
Are Korean and Turkish related? No that I know of, apart from both being agglutinative languages. Turkish has vowel harmony, Korean doesn't. And yet, I can find a similarity in consonant change rules between both languages. 😁
Some years ago, I tried to learn Korean but gave up very quickly. Pronunciation and spelling made no sense to me and I couldn't retain vocabulary. Now, after learning Turkish, something has clicked, and Korean pronunciation rules seem slightly more logical.
Exactly! Even if Urdu has a heavier influence from Persian, people claiming they are two separate languages has more to do with politics and religion than with actual linguistic differences
Probably my hottest take related to languages is that Hindi and Urdu are dialects of one and the same language, and I will die on that hill. #langtwt #langsky
That's great! Keep going! 👏👏👏
That sounds great! Sounds like you have a very good Japanese level, is that right?
That sounds good! Practicing handwriting is super relaxing ☺️
