With them I buy civilization,” Zelenak calls for greater recognition of how filing an income tax return constitutes a “Purchase-of-Civilization Ceremony.”

Elm Street Quick-Build Safety Improvement Proposal Open House. Have a slice of pizza with your neighbors, and learn about proposed changes for Elm Street! The Davis Square Neighborhood Council Elmway Action Group is proposing a series of changes to Elm St. between Day St. and Grove St. to make it safer and more pleasant for folks to walk and sit.

Elm Street Quick-Build Safety Improvement Proposal Open House. The current configuration has 7 feet parking lane, 26 feet drive lane, 7 feet parking lane. The proposed configuration has 12 feet outdoor dining, 3 feet buffer, 11 feet drive lane, 14 feet angled parking. The Davis Square Neighborhood Council Elmway Action Group is proposing a series of changes to Elm St. between Day St. and Grove St. to make it safer and more pleasant for folks to walk and sit.

Harrison Avenue in Phillips Square, Chinatown, painted part of the street, filled it with planters, tables, and seating, and separated it from the street with flex posts. Bow Street in Union Square, Somerville, has back-in diagonal parking and outdoor dining area in part of the parking area.

Grand Union Boulevard in Assembly Square, Somerville, has a quick-build accessible bus platform. Harrison Avenue, Phillips Square, Chinatown, painted part of the street, filled it with planters, tables, and seating, and separated it from the street with flex posts.

The DSNC's Elmway Action Group is hosting an open house next week to gather feedback on our proposal for safety improvements on Elm St. Please come by and weigh in!
