Does anyone have any favorite guides or resources aimed at scientists/academics translating their work into public-facing talks/materials? There are a lot out there. I'm wondering if there are standouts!

There is no such thing as a "low skill" job. Only a low wage job.
I'm doing another update to this map today because I really REALLY want you to go to a local market where actual artists sell their work instead of ordering from Amazon or falling for some shitty AI crap on Etsy.
Also, dance has many different rhythms in it that can help knock out the repetitive rumination patterns of anxiety in a way that (in my experience) the repetition of running can exacerbate.
And finally swimming! Which is less accessible in lots of ways, but can feel silly and fun and not fast.
By pace work do you mean “stuff where you’re supposed to go fast”?
If so, and speaking from my own experience, I have a few ideas!
In my experience *movement* is the key thing that helps with anxiety, not necessarily cardio/going fast. So, things like yoga and walking can be great!
Everything is very bad but at least some things are funny

Coercive sterilization in ICE detention. Eugenics.
Does anyone, by chance, have a copy of this article??
"Blazing new trails: Adventure therapy for adolescents with eating disorders" J Kaptian - American Journal of Recreation Therapy, 2003
I can't find it anywhere, even on the journal website.

This week, the Global Sumud Flotilla tried to deliver life-saving aid to Gaza.
Instead, 461 people—including New Yorkers—have been detained by the Israeli military.
They must be freed at once. And the deliberate starvation of Palestinians must end now.
Woke me up in the Richmond in San Francisco. Exciting!

You can read more about the anthology and submit your writing here!
Me too! Just recently finished it and was sad to get to the end. Such lovable characters.

We need about 300 more scientists before we let teachers loose on the database!
Tell your colleagues, we need ya!

Look at this cool grasshopper (probably?) that I found
I think there’s a big difference between “all hope is lost” and “I have lost hope” and in climate it is really important to distinguish between the two. My personal feelings, your personal feelings are not the limits of our collective politics.
My coping mechanism for dealing with the nonstop deluge of horrors is just putting more cute community building/educational shit into the world. The more horrific shit they shovel onto us the more cute shit they're going to get out of me. I have to recommend this as a coping mechanism.
A friend and I made a text bot (non-AI) that tells you cool nature facts about the SF Bay Area. I want to find a micro-grant to help fund the texts and also print stickers w/ the number and cute nature illustrations to promote it. Anyone know of a grant/fund that might be a fit? #scicomm
Dress like it’s early fall somewhere else. Bring light layers and also sunglasses.
An extremely specific question: does anyone know if local news outlets in the San Francisco Bay Area have some kind of association or organization where they all link up? Not clear from a Google. #SanFrancisco #LocalNews #LocalJournalism #Journalism
