Yes, advice from university departments/mentors here in the UK at least has always been to apply early as most people need two applications. The change in rules mean that some people are now excluded for taking that advice.
Unfortunately nothing in the announcement to suggest that.
Think this would be a good idea. Similar to the way Cancer Research UK run things with a preliminary application (don't think Wellcome do 2-stage applications any more?).
Interesting changes to ERC eligibility, low scores now exclude you from reapplications for up to 3 years.
Help needed: I know this has been discussed before - what are people doing now that phase lock tubes have disappeared from the market? Is everyone making their own and that's why companies are not selling them anymore? If so, what is the best vaccum grease you would recommend? 🤷♀️

If you got a B score before, you’re blocked for 2 years (instead of 1). A C score means 3-year exclusion.
This applies to the 2027 call for now, but I’d expect this to stick. Important for anyone planning to apply this round!
