Three long-necked dinosaurs walk across a mudflat against the setting sun. It's lightly raining, but stormier weather is visible in the distance. The dinosaurs are seen almost in full silhouette, and crocodylian-like reptiles are barely visible in the lower right. Two of the sauropods bicker like an old married couple. It's _always_ Middle Sauropod's fault, no matter what. Poor Middle Sauropod.

Pink pterosaurs, pink water. A flock of pterosaurs adapted for filter-feeding soar along a Jurassic coast undergoing a phytoplankton bloom, exposing the source of the pink carotenoids that they sequester into their fuzz to make their bodies and faces pink. Marine carotenoids would have been especially common from the Mesozoic onwards, and it's very plausible that animals like pterosaurs would have picked them up in their diets.
Still alive as work on Book 7 enters the last few days, though I am quite sleep-deprived. And which joker organised daylight savings so close to my deadline? Thanks, jerk.
