The Hobbit taught us that Dragons who hoard gold at the expense of the well being of others will have their undoing by even the smallest person. We're meant for more in this world, for good food, cheer, and a comfortable life.
I think it was the porosity of the platform. In the best and worst ways everyone (no matter how large or small your following) was susceptible to being called out or highlighted by the community. Everything is interconnected there and that affects how you show up on the app.
